Fire Rick Hahn
Cleveland's front office IS good, but Soxtalk would not be happy if our FO operated like Cleveland's. The Soxtalk hive mind wants an AJ Preller, whether he's ultimately successful or not.

Who is buying/renewing tix for 2023?
Leaning toward renewing. I would kick myself if I bought for this cursed season and then passed for a season when they bounced back, which I think is reasonably likely. That said, I will wait for a little while to make sure they don't commit another TLR-level unforced error in their manager search.

RIP 2022 White Sox
As I put my kid to bed the other night, I looked at the Anderson and Moncada fatheads on his wall, the "Southside" flag he has hung up, and all the other Sox memorabilia he has collected and just got so angry. He's a fan because of me, just as I'm a fan because of my dad. We live in just about the heaviest Cubs neighborhood imaginable (even live across the street from a Cubs WS hero from 2016) and yet he and my other sons have remained die-hard Sox fans throughout their childhoods. They suffered through a rebuild that chewed up their formative years while their friends' team celebrated, I suspect largely out of loyalty to their dad. For years they have fended off their Cub fan friends by parroting what they heard from me: just wait 'til 2021/2022/2023, that's our time. Just wait. We went to 20 games in what should have been a season of joy, all the while I could tell they were looking at me wondering "so, when's this gonna happen? I told everybody this was going to happen, dad, so what's going on?" The answer, of course, was that it was not going to happen at all, and I'm not sure it ever will. Honestly, I feel guilty for believing in this franchise and worse for inflicting my kids with this Sox fan disease. Screw this team for making that happen. Screw them especially because they had legitimate success in their grasp and arrogantly pissed it away because of a dysfunctional front office beholden to a capricious, dictatorial owner. I know it's just sports. I have plenty of thoughts on what can be done to (hopefully) turn this around. But for now I'm just stewing in anger. That is all.

10/5- Twins at Sox, 3:10
Fitting end to an awful season. A truly terrible, broken, mismanaged team battled a good, talented team to a draw. I really felt like the latter team would break through in the end but it was not to be. I still have hope that with new management, better health, and some key roster moves this team could contend next year, but my faith and baseline level of optimism have definitely taken a hit.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
I was 1000% team Bochy two years ago and still think he was the right hire at the time. I'd still be good with him but I am a little concerned that this team may need to truly exorcise the demons of the TLR era, and not sure another pedigreed old dude could do that. I'd be good with Jirschele or another young, up-and-coming out-of-the-box hire. Just no cheaters, please.

The White Sox cannot be fixed by next season
- Is the best outcome the playoffs?
Wow, only 47% of you root against the White Sox? Would have thought higher.- How Does It End? You write the ending . . .
In a playoff year. That would be soooooo Sox- How Does It End? You write the ending . . .
Agreed. Our rotation is a problem in the playoffs. It's getting there that's the trick.- TLR out for the year
Our players consistently give only 100%, which is inadequate when real competitors give 110%, maybe even 112%. That's literally like 10-12 more. You do the math YOAN- TLR out for the year
Hmm, he actually said a little there. Which, run through the Hahn-speak translator, means he said a lot.- What's so good about Cleveland game thread 9-15 12:10 first pitch
I'm a certified TLR hater, but it's pretty funny that we can now point to both the team's losses (because TLR is like sort of back with the team in the skybox) and wins (because TLR isn't actually managing) as evidence that TLR is the problem. ?- Luis Robert to the IL

Weird they dodged Cease with the famous sunny-day-rain-delay routine just to punt this one- Does it make sense to be a team sports fan?
It’s worth it…but you need more than two teams. Diversify that portfolio, baby!- Ken Rosenthal: Stay Away Tony
You ok?- What's so good about Cleveland game thread 9-15 12:10 first pitch
Yes, bolded facts are true. Also true: if the Sox were run like the Guardians Soxtalk would be even more miserable than it is now.- What's so good about Cleveland game thread 9-15 12:10 first pitch
By the way, I missed when they swapped Gio for Lynn. When did they announce that? Happy they did it, but just surprised I missed the "fanfare."- What's so good about Cleveland game thread 9-15 12:10 first pitch
Sometimes you can make up four games in four days, as we did a couple weeks ago. Sometimes your competitor wins 6 in a row and you can't do anything but lose ground, like this week. The math is what it is -- you can imagine a thousand hypothetical scenarios, (and can declare that your hypo is definitive if it makes you feel better), but I'm going to take it day by day. Let's start with cutting the lead to 3 this afternoon.- 9/14 vs. Rockies @ 110CT - Cease v. Freeland: Keep Winning, Please
Yes, let’s do keep winning. That would be splendid.- 9/11 White Sox @ Athletics 3:07 CT
I feel like i say that to myself the first inning of all his starts- TLR out for the year
Dammit don’t give me hope like this then snatch it away- That's a 10-2 White Sox Winner !
I think it was skewed before he came - Is the best outcome the playoffs?
