  1. How much does Jeff Cirillo make? I'm thinking we make a your problem for our problem type of deal where we get Cirillo and say Jamal Strong, and they get Konerko. They actually have use for Konerko as a DH, we use Cirillo as a late inning hitter/utility player type, and Strong stengthens our minor league system. I could see a move like that happening.
  2. I think ARod is gone with the right offer this offseason. The Mets and Orioles both can spend quite a bit of money this offseason, and if they want to make a move for the future, that would be it. Ask Texas to take on $5 mill every year and you give them some pretty good players in return, and I think the move is very doable.
  3. If Grady Little were available this offseason, and neither he nor Gaston are managing this team next year, I think I'm going to cry.
  4. Don't you remember? We tried to get A-Rod! And we will not go after Tejada. The last thing we need is another slow, right-handed power hitter. Go after Cabrera and Castillo if you go after anyone.....especially if we lose Colon.
  5. Gotta disagree with you greg. Manuel was terrible. He can't manage a bullpen to save his life, can't motivate a team, can't keep a level-head in times when we need it, can't get up and defend our team when we need it, and apparently he can't motivate teams either. We'll just pretend that Terry Bevington never happened.
  6. Apparently it was the Tennessee-Alabama game. 5 overtimes....damn.
  7. Someone needs to stop that s*** in the main office of the MLB(aka, Bud Selig). They spent $150 mill this year, and are totally obvlivious to the luxury tax. If they are willing to spend more, then that is just not fair....seriously. A salary cap HAS to be put into effect immediately. It is complete and utter bulls*** that the Yankees can get away with this.
  8. I've noticed one thing, free swingers get dominated in the playoffs cause the pitchers have that extra level of concentration. It seems to be that way. But when Josh Beckett is on the mound, it doesn't f***in matter what kind of hitter you are....you're not gonna win 90% of the time.
  9. Ask that same Yankee fan how you tame a Marlin now. Most likely response -
  10. Oh yeah, well the Sturgis, SD football team(I'm pretty sure it's them) has had a losing streak of like 50 games, and I think it is still going as well.
  11. Cameron will get s*** for money and take it. He's had two straight not so great years. However, he'd probably rather play in the California Pino League before signing with the White Sox. He was treated like absolute s*** during the last stages of his career as a member of the Chicago White Sox. Best you can hope for is one big signing this offseason up the middle....maybe we get lucky enough and sign Castillo(odds are, probably no), or maybe we get lucky enough and make a trade for a good SS, or we sign Cabrera(again, probably no), or maybe we a good all around CFer, or maybe Rowand or Harris steps up and plays up to their potential(again, probably no)
  12. Oh Christ, bust my balls for being off $1-$2 mill. Point blank, Buehrle will, without a doubt, make more money then Jon/Judy Garland.
  13. Beckett's a stud, and the kid knows how to pitch. You mix a guy that knows how to pitch with a guy that has great stuff, and you get the Mark Prior's, Josh Beckett's, Roger Clemens's, Pedro Martinez's of the world.
  14. Who the hell knows. If I had to take a guess, I'd say probably what you saw the very few last games of last year....Alomar, Valentin, and Rowand.
  15. Oh jeezus let's hope so. I'd have to tune into a few games during the year just to watch his fatass bat too! I personally wouldn't though. I'd use Cruz in the #5 spot....he's an OK starter, and he could be a pretty good #5 starter too.
  16. Welcome back cw. Only bad thing about you being back is that Bills fans are outnumbered again by Dolphins fans 3-2 Just messin, that's not such a bad thing
  17. Bears Panthers Patriots Vikings Broncos Titans Buccaneers Seahawks Steelers 49ers Jets Colts Bills Chargers
  18. There was some game last year where a girls team lost 142-2, or some big number like that. I think it was in Michigan.
  19. Dude, it's called arbitration. If we don't reach a deal with Buehrle, we will go to arbitration and if we offer some s*** number, we are going to get f***ed over big time. If we go to arbitration with Buehrle, he's going to get like probably like $4 million at the LEAST....and possibly $5 or $6 million. I expect him to get like a 3-4 year deal at like about $3 or $4 mill per.
  20. I wouldn't say Munoz struggled this year. He was bombed early in the year very badly. From then on he was very effective, and with his awesome curveball the little guy could be up with the big club as soon as next year. It's easy to see why he got hammered early. He had to of been just burnt out. I know he threw last year(obviously), and then I think he threw AFL( ) and he threw winter ball too I believe....that would burn ANYONE out.
  21. The problem is that Kenny will get fleeced on the deal and we'll end up with the Devil rays! You mean like Berry-Barry?

Decent options? Cotts? Wright? Schno? OMFG....we will be as bad as last year. Let Cotts learn to throw a strike in the minors, let Wright operate out of the bullpen and let Schno stay in the BP too. If Gordon leaves, that is even more important. Get a #5 as a FA. The last time Kenny took a flyer on a #5, we got Loaiza. Go for someone like that, an experienced vet who has bounced aroudn the league but can get us 8-10 wins Bulls*** Wright's elbow was f***ed up during ST, sat out a month, and then tried to come back.....just a good example of a guy that got roughed up early and had a sophomore slump. Cotts came up and pitched like s*** last year probably because he was a little too unagressive, and he apparently nibbled(damn school and no broadcasts didn't help me....I couldn't watch games). He goes after hitters and keeps them off balance enough(ala Mark Redman), he can be a very effective pitcher. And from what I've heard, he has dynamite stuff too. Schoeneweis is a guy that has nasty stuff and has a place on this team no matter what. He's had a little success as a starter before, and nothing says he won't have success again. Then you have Diaz, Pacheco, etc, and then probably a few NRI's that will come in and have a shot at it too(guys that have good stuff but have never put it together, ala Esteban Loaiza) or guys that are older and still want to pitch(possibly a guy like Rick Reed). If we don't have a good 5th starter, obviously considering he is a 5th starter, and we have to go through what we did last year, I will seriously wonder if we have anyone with a brain in the front office.
