Pulling for Billy
Do you think I can have my own opinion on an issue or not? If i don't like a player, I'll express that. And if I'm at the park, there's a definate possibility he might know my opinion on a certain issue as well.

Where's the Media Coverage on This?
Did anybody else see what I saw? It said something like "For the second day in a row, a fan charged onto the field." Yet, when a Cubs fan or two charge onto the field at USCF, all White Sox fans are the devil and the White Sox should be contracted and USCF security is s***ty, blah blah blah. Then we get blamed for everything. It's f***ing bulls***. I am starting to hate the A's and ESPN more and more each day :fyou

So if the Sox signed Joe Carter, you wouldn't say "He's washed up. Get him the hell out of here." ? I know I would :dips***

Trade Thread...Latest Trade News Here...
I have to agree with Bmr here. If the Giants win it all, and Ponson is a big contributor to it, I don't care if Ainsworth, Moss, and Hannaman become the best 1-2-3 combo since Oakland. The Gaints win, plain and simple. So soon do we forget that George Bell has still won more division crowns with the White Sox then SamME So-So has with the Cubs.

Jon Adkins
Oh, so that's who that is. Ugly motherf***er, that's for sure.

Minnesota Loses
Technically, yes, they are. They are reigning division champs. But if they want to win this year, they will need one more starter, atleast. Lohse has his head up his ass and can't figure s*** out(since June, his ERA has gone from about Sarah Michelle Gellar's weight to Rosie O'Donnell weight....in ERA terms of course). Mays has been demoted to the pen, Santana got roughed up a little tonight(but from what I recall, he's been quite good overall), and Reed has been somewhat inconsistent. Only Rogers and Radke have been solid, and that's all they've been. Right now, I'd take Rogers and Radke from their rotation to help us right now(and possibly Santana too), and that's it. A #5 starter is supposed to give their team a chance to win whenever they pitch, and half of the guys that have been in their rotation this year haven't even done that on a consistent basis from June on. As far as I'm concerned, unless the Twins get another starter or two in the next two days, they are out of it. KC is the only team that I'm scared of right now, and that's because they are in front of us in the standings. The Twins have to get back to .500 for me to be worried about them again.

Breaking News...Sox Trade
Uh, no. He's got a good arm. Throws 94-95 or so.

Red Sox acquire Williamson
Boone? He's pretty good. Power, speed, good defense....the kid knows how to play. If we only have him for this year(I'm not sure how much more we'd have him), that would be fine, because we could then sign Smiley or use Tim Hummel or something else. There are always options out there. And I'd really like Suppan. He's a big-time inning eater and keeps his team in the ball game. I'd love to have him as our #5 starter....I don't care if the AL has seen him.

sox vs kc series
You know what I THINK will happen? We will see the same team we saw when we played that 12-game stretch against the Twins and Cubs, but more favoring the team with the killer instinct, the dominant team against the Twins that last series. The Sox realize that the Royals are the first place team, and it is the end of July. They will realize that there is no more f***ing around, that they just need to go out and play. This off-day is exactly the thing we needed. Not only does it give the team a break, but it gives them a day to prepare for the series. We are getting great starting pitching, the defense has been solid, and the offense good over the past 10 games, aside from 1 game(the game we lost). The bullpen, how ever many pitchers you think there are in there(right now, I'd say 4....Wunsch is good against lefties, Marte and Gordon are both studs, and White has been decent, minus one outing....Glover is hardly used, and Koch blows), was also good. We have 3 studs going, and I'm hoping we can get 7 strong from MB, 7 strong from Jon, and 7 strong from Esteban. All are very possible. I think the offense steps up, and the bullpen steps up. I think that, if we do make the postseason, the team that we will see in this series is the team that will show up in the playoffs. If you want to, you can mark this post down, and see if I am right 4 days later. This IS the biggest series of the year, up to this point, and very well could be the biggest series of the year. We sweep, we are 1 game out, KC loses any momentum it had going in, possibly putting them into a huge losing stretch, and gives us a ton of momentum going into the I believe Seattle and Oakland games, and our west coast trip in general, and possibly lining us up for a trade on that dat. We get swept, we are 7 out, and we are fire-saling on that last day, losing any chance we had of competing right then and there.

If we were to have the same team next year....
If I'm thinking right, we have options with both Gordon and White. White will not be brought back(or so I hope), and Gordon will be(or so I hope). I hope we can get rid of Konerko, and I hope we can get Buehrle long term. Getting rid of Koch would also be nice.

The Royals traded for Grame Lloyd
There are tons of lefties out there. If we want a lefty out of the pen, I would opt to not trade anyone, but rather bring up Arnie Munoz and his Zito-like curveball. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't Stanton sign for like 3-years? I don't want him for that. Because IIRC, his contract is 3-years, $9 mill, with him getting $2 mill this year, $3 mill next year, and $4 mill the year after that. I'd much rather have Marte, Munoz, and Wunsch then have Marte, Stanton, and Wunsch. I like Marte, Munoz, and Wunsch, because all 3 are different style pitchers, and if I'm thinking right, 2 of them could go against righties as well. IMO, we trade for one solid starter for down the stretch, and that's all we will need. Put Koch on waivers....if he clears, send him to AAA. If he doesn't, HALELUJIA(I just slaughtered that word). You can then bring up Munoz, and Wright, andDiaz to use in the pen(which ever you want first). That is then a pen of White, Gordon, Glover, Wunsch, Marte, and I'll say Wright. I say we try to trade White and Glover to the Cards and get something(I'm not sure what though....as far as I'm concerned, 3 fringe prospects would do the trick). Tony LaRussa gave White some baseball loving last year, and I'm sure he could find some use for Glover. We then bring up Munoz and Diaz....and you have a pretty good pen right there. Cheap bullpen which is also effective. Looks good on paper.

trade for Livian Hernandez
I think he'll be a solid #5 starter.

Props to big Frank
I know of a few Cubs fans who actually do not like SamME, and one actually thinks they should have traded him to the Yanks or Red Sox when they could have and gotten some killer prospects. From a Sox fan point of view, I do not agree....I'm glad they kept Sosa. But if I were a Cubs fan, I would definately be PO'ed that they had not traded him. They could have gotten so many big names right now. Hell, they could have Soriano, Nick Johnson, and Juan Rivera on their team right now, and then that would allow them to trade one of Johnson and Choi, if that's how it would have happened, and gotten themselves a stud 3Bman(maybe they do get Hillenbrand, or Lowell, or some other big name....a ton of things could have happened). I know it is hindsight and what I explained probably would not have happened that way. But they could have gotten a whole lot for Sosa back then and would have freed up $15-$20 mill. That's how you can be a fan of a team and not like a player that has done a ton statistically for your franchise. Bonds is selfish, Sosa is selfish, and Thomas can also qualify for that category. You don't think some of the things he says are selfish? It is very easy to think that. I understand exactly what Bmr is saying.

Bobby Jenks.
What do I predict? He's a top tier closer in 5 years. A fastball that reaches the high 90s/low 100/s and he has a killer curve? Sounds like closer material to me. As a starter, he would be good for maybe half a year, then he'd throw out his arm. But as a closer, it would be a completely different story.

trade for Livian Hernandez
Josh Fogg isn't really doing much if you've paid attention lately. Probably not. Have you seen our 5th starter? If I'm counting correctly, it's somewhere around 2 combined wins from that spot by the starters(one from Stewart, one from Porzio). I'm sure Fogg has done a hell of a lot more then that.

sox vs kc series
If this really is a KC fan.....I'd just like to ask.....how's that bullpen holding up? Any team with Jose Lima as their ace should not win a division. That would include the Royals....too bad. I'd like to see how you guys hold up in August. I smell a sub-.500 month coming up.

trade for Livian Hernandez
Would they? Yes and no. I'd love to have those two in the starting rotation right now, and not have had to go through the Toad Ritchie phase. However, had we not traded those two, do we have Colon/Alomar/Everett? That's my main question.

Who Thinks that the Sox

What? Mike Porzio, Dan Wright, and Josh Stewart haven't been good enough for you? Regardless, we need help in the bullpen more then we do in the rotation. I can handle 4 studs in the rotation, and 1 dud. What I can't handle is having 2 studs, one decent pitcher, and 3 s*** pitchers in the pen
