  1. Baldwin should be back up in the next week or so...unless they're waiting for him to start to cool down first like they inexplicably did with Elko.
  2. Johnson County KS is super wealthy suburbs...that's SW Kansas City basically. The area out near the KS Speedway is more middle class...similar to area of east KC and Raytown where the two stadiums are currently located on the Missouri side. Then KCK is basically a slightly better East St Louis.
  3. Detroit still has to fight with that negative perception as a city...weird part is how that doesn't seem to impact CLE as much. Mariners had that extended run without playoffs until recently and suppressed offensive numbers.
  4. Missouri's plan, which passed the House on a vote of 90 to 58 would allow Missouri to pay for up to 50% of new or improved stadiums for the Chiefs and Royals using tax revenue generated by the teams toward payment of bonds. Kansas' bonds program, on the other hand, could pay for up to 70% of new stadiums.

  6. "That leaves an untold number of fans who may have purchased an indoor antenna, a new receiver or even clambered up onto a roof to hook up an outdoor antenna, with a bunch of wires and a blank TV screen. About 15% of the 3.46 million homes in the Chicago market watch TV using an antenna." https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2025/06/10/chsns-move-to-comcast-leaves-fans-without-free-viewing-antenna-option/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiqj-i06euNAxXWMEQIHckUNiUQFnoECAQQAg&usg=AOvVaw3umaHfGGw2PJTFat6flO7b
  7. Blew a 3 run lead tonight in the 8th. Last night, it was a 4 run lead in the ninth. Headed for 12-55 with the way the Giants have been playing, even without Chapman now.
  8. And the Cubs still aren't running a Top 10 payroll this year...dumped Bellinger basically just to save money (although it did turn out they had plenty of offense).
  9. Pitched 1 inning for the Rangers' WS team in 2023 as well...
  10. 261 OPS Capra 232 OPS Amaya 404 OPS M.Maldonado (2024 w/ Sox)
  11. .085 now Incremental fall, causing Sox fans to fondly recall the days for Jacob Amaya occasionally coming through at the plate.
  12. That sounds ominous, lol. The problem is that there's a lot more playing time available in the outfield for Baldwin (short-term) with the plethora of 2B candidates in the organization. Unless they move Sosa to 1B? No idea where they're going to fit in Colson, probably 1B/DH as well...but you just know they're going to want to prove that he can play SS at the big league level, moving Meidroth off the spot he's just starting to get really comfortable with. So much for Pallette to the majors any time soon...

  15. "Jeff] Barry hit .290 in Triple-A and had a .163 average in 49 major-league at-bats in '95 and '98. The Sox originally thought they were getting Class-A right-hander Jonathan Berry , but a "miscommunication" problem between the two teams led to Williams accepting Barry instead. Williams said the Sox would "honor" the trade despite the mixup on an apparent last-minute throw-in." Soxmachine.com Except none of these players mattered in the least. But it made for a great sound bite...like Olivo/Bradford in Moneyball. But then Olivo/Morse/Reed led to F.Garcia and Loiaza/Contreras pushed the Sox over the top eventually...as winning at the big league level was the JR priority, so the farm system was utilized by Williams to acquire more reliable veterans the managers could trust.
  16. “Perez is also more advanced -- he started the year at Low-A, whereas Albertus was recently promoted -- and provokes more confidence in his ability to stay up the middle, albeit as a "bat-first second baseman." He's been performing, hitting .264/.380/.420 with 10 home runs in 75 games at Rancho Cucamonga and was selected for the Futures Game this year. One scout lauded his "pull-side pop/loft" while another called him an "arrow-up guy." Still, the current contact and batted-ball numbers drive questions about how the offensive profile will hold up when high-level velocity is introduced, and the projection was more "contact-driven solid regular" than "star "to begin with.” https://soxmachine.com/2024/07/white-sox-scouting-reports-miguel-vargas-jeral-perez-alexander-albertus 2B (106) ... SS (55) ... 3B (34) Perez will end up at either second or third…definitely not SS.
  17. Defensive concerns at third…although scouting reports there are mixed.
  18. Dodgers have already used 30 different pitchers and 13 different starters this season. “They are currently operating with only four healthy starting pitchers. Their equally banged-up bullpen is leading the majors in innings, and was coming off five frames of work in an extra-inning win the night before. And by the time Hernández took the mound in the sixth, the game had long been lost, the Padres (38-28) teeing off on Sauer with three runs two-out runs in the third inning, single scores in the fourth and fifth, and a four-spot in the sixth. “I know that my job is just eat as many as I can,” said Sauer, who entered the game as a bulk man in the second inning after opener Lou Trivino tossed a scoreless first. “Obviously, today, didn't have as good of stuff, but I felt like I was just out there pitching my ass off, trying to compete and trying to eat as many innings as I could for the bullpen." “And knowing Wednesday’s starter will be left-hander Justin Wrobleski, who has a 7.20 ERA in three big-league outings this year and has spent much of the campaign in AAA, Roberts decided not to waste any of his other available relievers on the latter innings either, inserting Hernández as pitcher the moment the Padres pushed their lead past eight runs with two out in the bottom of the frame (MLB rules prevent losing teams from using position players on the mound until they face an eight-run deficit.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/padres-rout-dodgers-real-laugher-045113563.html

  20. "Are you a Phoenix Suns fan? Do you live in the local Phoenix market? Are you not able to access Phoenix Suns basketball due to the sheer fact that you cannot receive the live local broadcast that will be on KTVK this season? Do you need an antenna in an effort to watch your beloved Suns? Then have I got a deal for you! Mat Ishbia, new Suns owner, has dedicated his time, money, and effort on the fan experience. The newest addition to that fan experience is, if you’re facing any of the problems on the above, he will ship you a complementary TV antenna simply so you can watch the games for free." https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2023/9/16/23876440/phoniex-suns-mat-ishbia-makes-suns-more-accessible-providing-free-tv-antennas-for-fans https://x.com/DevinBookerMuse/status/1702426005431099686/photo/1

  22. Dylan Cease with 7 shutout innings against the Dodgers tonight...exorcising some demons. ERA down to 4.28 on the season. He and Michael King continue to be in trade and extension discussions. 4.5 fWAR 2021 4.4 fWAR 2022 3.6 fWAR 2023 4.8 fWAR 2024 trending around 1.8-2.0 fWAR after tonight's game, 11 strikeouts
