There's nobody interesting until you get down to Braden and Wolkow. McCray lighting up Sox on the base paths...50+ steals guy in minors.

Twins with an 8 spot. Leaves Sox and Padres alone at the bottom in runs scored and both probably 3-10 after today. Doval just massacred Sox...has lost closer's spot but Posey won't trade him yet.

Colas hurt??? Jammed something on the dive. Had a great catch the inning before against Chapman.

Just play Maton in spring...or Gray. This lineup today is hopeless. Bad enough to make Andre Lipcius at bats almost compelling. No walks for SFG pitching stands out.

C Drew Dalman to the Bears Dalman wins his assignments with movement and leverage to offset a smaller frame (6-3, 300 pounds). He's a technician on tape, best suited for the zone run game, and his pass block win rate of 95.1% ranked ninth among centers with at least 500 snaps in 2024. (He missed time due to an ankle injury, though.) Chicago traded for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, and Dalman could fit right between them on the line. espn.com

Official NBA 25-26 Thread
"In the eyes of the public, the upcoming draft class consists of three top players, with Cooper Flagg being the clear one, and the Rutgers duo of Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey being two and three. It feels crucial to land a top-three pick, despite other top players being excellent like Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe and BYU’s Egor Demin." Bulls currently 8th from the bottom at 24-38...6% odds for Flagg.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
. "Should David Blitzer execute his option, it would be a tidy change of ownership for the Guardians, in contrast to what we’ve seen from a number of sports franchises recently. The Denver Broncos sold in 2022 because the family of late owner Pat Bowlen could not agree on a successor. The family of late Padres owner Peter Seidler is currently in court fighting over control of the MLB team. The death of longtime Chicago Bears owner Virginia McCaskey in early February has spurred all sorts of questions about whether her family can maintain ownership of the team while remaining compliant with the NFL’s ownership rules. The Baltimore Orioles sold last year on the eve of Peter Angelos’ death following disagreements between his children. The Boston Celtics are currently on the market as a result of estate planning for Irving Grousbeck, who is around 90 years old." https://www.sportico.com/business/team-sales/2025/cleveland-guardians-owner-succession-plan-david-blitzer-1234831439/

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Why Losing Out on Billionaire Justin Ishbia Might Be a Win for the Minnesota Twins https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/minnesota-twins/why-losing-out-on-billionaire-justin-ishbia-might-be-a-win-for-the-minnesota-twins-r17857/ Then: Spending doesn’t guarantee success, but as the Dodgers and Yankees remind us, not spending almost certainly guarantees failure. Now: smart, sustainable decision-making is just as important The messages are not at odds, but certainly the emphasis became different "There's a good chance a new owner will do something splashy right away to build immediate goodwill and put his or her mark on the team. However, there's next to no chance that when this person is announced that we will have any idea how they plan on operating this club three or four years from now. Smart money is on that it's going to look pretty much exactly like we have it now."

Sox fall from 26th to 28th, Yahoo Sports org under 26 power rankings
White Sox drafted last for 2025 WS winners draft... 30. Chicago White Sox "Leitch: After 121 losses in 2024, things can only get better in 2025. There are some players to watch here, too. Will Luis Robert Jr. do enough to rebuild his trade value? Can Miguel Vargas, Korey Lee and Colson Montgomery establish themselves as big league regulars? Can Joey Gallo resurrect his career? The White Sox may be a little better this year under new manager Will Venable – but only a little." https://www.mlb.com/news/picking-2025-world-series-favorites

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Even though Reinsdorf's share is only 25% (at most, supposedly), he always has maintained full control and veto rights with the Board of Directors...so basically it doesn't matter if his shared was 5%, he would still have official control of the franchise until that's relinquished either willingly or through death (passing on son, in theory). The public pressure on this issue is going to continue to increase if the White Sox keep sporting the lowest payroll in the entire sport. There's also the theory that Ishbia doesn't want to get involved with negotiating the next CBA with the MLBPA as a "bad guy", but that's just speculation and who knows, he might even be siding with teams like the Dodgers and Mets in terms of unfettered free market spending (minus the CBT on payroll overages). Maybe Ishbia is waiting for the team to bottom out in 2025/26, but he's going to want to be involved 100% in the new stadium plans because theoretically most or all of the money's coming from him...let's say $700 million to $1 billion depending on the scope and scale of the project.

Pohafsky or something quite similar. The two sons fought over father's autographed baseball collection when he died and it went to court...I remember it made the Chicagoland news. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2011/07/05/fight-over-autographed-baseballs-leaves-pogofsky-family-battered/ Pogofsky...could probably look up both sons online for clues.

Nope...JR is still control person until giving that up officially.
-
Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
So we're looking at a range of anywhere from 30-60% of the team...assuming JR and sons at 20-25%. Maybe 10-15% that didn't sell but might be called upon for cash call investments into a new stadium project in the next 2-3 years...and hopefully there's news sooner rather than later on that front. Because it will only increase the value of the JR shares to work oat the framework for a stadium deal and advantages collective bargain ing agreement before 2027... Ishbia would surely want to control the design as it would be principally his money invested into the project.

I sat in that sort of like a RF terrace and then moved later to the second deck. It's nice...but pales in comparison to SF for example.

Maton for SS. No to Amaya. Tristan Gray would be okay not sure if he has adequate range for SS though with so any contact pitchers in the rotation.
