Sox development staff breakdown...
In reality it's AA but they clearly wanted to keep Project Birmingham group together as they progressed together to Charlotte....Montgomery Quero Keel Meidroth Ramos will all be there, maybe Baldwin.

The White Sox built a brand for seventy-five years in Cuba and what exactly is that worth now to the franchise?

Ohtani is a $50 million dollar per season player and he's reflected by the payroll at $2 million. This team is heading for essentially a $400 million payroll. Then Ohtani's generated an extra $100 million alone in Dodger revenues, or twice the yearly White Sox payroll... It's not just SD. It's Pittsburgh Colorado Miami Toronto TB White Sox Oakland Cincy St.Louis Angels that are pretty much hopeless now. Twins' owners are basically giving up, too.

Question Time: Is It Worst (Worse) To Try And Fail (Over And Over) Than Not To Try??? There is a (bad) romantic comedy movie, ‘27 Dresses,’ in which Katherine Heigl shows her romantic interest that she has 27 ugly bridesmaid dresses and has never been the bride. Somewhere in an office at Roger Centre, there is a closet with the same number of dresses, for the Blue Jays front office. https://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2025/1/19/24347249/question-time-is-it-worst-to-try-and-fail-over-and-over-than-not-to-try Where have we seen THIS before? TLR and Yermin from the Renteria years... The beginning of the end was the whole “they’re having too much fun in the dugout, let’s fix that”. It backfired spectacularly and nothing good has happened since. I don't think I've ever seen karma strike back so simultaneously swift and vicious. It boggles the mind. There’s not a workplace in the world where anyone would buy into “stop enjoying yourselves and you’ll have success” Especially a workplace where the primary duties are to play a freakin' kid's game!!!

Is this a joke??? The one guy who dominated Shohei Ohtani now joins him to pitch against San Diego’s lineup. This will be fun to watch. ..... Still as we sit here on this Sunday morning the Padres haven’t signed or traded for a Major League player. One win away from beating the World Series champions and this is how they have they reacted. Fan favorite Blake Snell signs with the Dodgers. Sasaki. Scott. Who’s next? Jurickson Profar? (I’m kidding. It’s not happening. Their outfield is full but we’re down bad right now) The Dodgers will be $130+ million over the Competitive Balance Tax threshold. So much for balance.(And with Ohtani reflected, they'd be nearing a $375-400 million payroll.) Props to them for spending the money they have but at the same time, shouldn’t MLB step in and put a cap when a team is going aggressively over the threshold. There are General Managers in the league that want to spend but literally don’t have this money to do so. They’re supposed to look at the Dodgers and think all this is fine and dandy? Another sad day in the offseason for Padres fans. https://www.gaslampball.com/2025/1/19/24347247/is-this-a-joke

He was hurt but he's not a SS anymore and he was a 775-850 ops guy previously in Boston...not one 100+ points lower. Hahn was right on 15-20% of his contracts lol.

If you combined the ENTIRE AL Central into one team the only starters (vs. the Dodgers' starters) out of the lineup/rotation would be Witt Jr. Ramirez maybe Correa maybe Salvy Perez and then Skubal. Greene or Kwan in LF, perhaps. I would still pick LAD vs combined "Central 5" vs.1 over 162 games.

You tell yourself that. Bogaerts was actually the biggest mistake so far. At least their fans could DREAM for 5-6 years now...they knocked off LA in the post season and had them on the ropes this season. Hosmer is long gone. A much more expensive version of vets/leadership/winning experience that Getz attempted last year.

The point is getting across? Well, the LA Times sportswriters are twisting themselves into pretzels attempting to defend their brand and how it positively drives attendance/revenue across MLB. They identity a "Boston Strong" as their 2025 underdog identity with the wildfires.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
We’re about as “lean and mean” as Sizzlelean…at any rate, we did have Nicky Lopez and now George Wolkow from the “local” Chicagoland market.

Game times announced. 6:40 is the new standard start
Of course we don’t even get the Dodgers at home this year…JR must be fuming over that missed revenue bump. Sox are sacrificial fodder/lesser Washington Generals for LAD fireworks nights July 2/3/4. (Although might not want to deliberately put flammables into the SoCal air…?)

I blame this on Chris Getz. And Brooks Boyer. And WestEddy. In no particular order… Maybe they should try starting LATER to keep the Sox scores out of the news, lol…

The fan was later identified to be Gabe Mazefsky, a fan who has spearheaded the effort of funding billboards throughout the city, demanding Bob Nutting sell the franchise. Mazefsky and a few others who have been involved with his efforts also passed out more than 200 free t-shirts that read “sell the team,” outside the convention center earlier that morning. ‘Where is Bob?’ Despite his continued opposition of Pirates’ ownership, Mazefsky was not only allowed in the event, but was given an opportunity to ask a question during the Q&A session. “This question is for Bob Nutting,” the Forest Hills resident asked. “Where is Bob? Where is Bob now? He’s voted for three collective bargaining agreements that have left a situation in this town where we draft generational talent and we don’t back it up and invest in that team. Why isn’t he here talking to us? … I respect all of you folks. I respect everyone who works for the Pirates organization. It needs new ownership. Where is Bob? Where are you buddy? “ With Nutting not on stage, Williams was the one who answered for Nutting. (Cue Chris Getz talking point…) “I think the points that you’re making as far as where is Bob, that’s why he has US here. We’re here to execute and make sure that we win. We’re here to answer that and answer all the questions that you have around winning, not necessarily around why the owner is here or not here. He’s been here, was at an event yesterday, over the course of the day he’s been walking around and meeting with some season ticket holders, but that’s relative to whether or not we’re going to win this year and what we’re trying to execute. It’s not really relevant.” https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/pirates/2025/01/18/bob-nutting-pirates-piratesfest-andrew-mccutchen/stories/202501170081

Meanwhile...Pirates running a SoxFest preview simulation. Pittsburgh Pirates CEO Travis Williams said the organization is committed to winning but declared to frustrated fans that owner Bob Nutting will not sell the team. Williams addressed fans' frustration over Nutting's ownership Saturday during a Q&A session at the Pirates' annual offseason fan fest. As Williams was responding to the first question, one fan in attendance shouted, "Sell the team," prompting some applause from the audience. At that point, several fans started chanting, "Sell the team!" Greg Brown, the Pirates' longtime television play-by-play announcer, asked the fans to stop the chant and to "be respectful." Another fan then asked Williams, who was seated next to Pirates general manager Ben Cherington and manager Derek Shelton, why Nutting was not in attendance. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43479141/bob-nutting-sell-pirates-team-ceo-tells-frustrated-fans Let them eat cake!!! and like it.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
If ALL your STEM and STE(A)M friends volunteered for Sox analytics, would it make even the slightest dent in the Dodgers' march to world domination? The Dominican has been a lost cause for over 15 years now since Dave Wilder. But there are no excuses about completely ignoring Taiwan Korea (well, Fedde) Japan, Australia, Africa, India... Paddy just got lazy and entitled. Just like KW. Hahn was just BAD...and Haber even worse. Stupid is as stupid does.

Roughly $303.5 million "At the moment, the Dodgers payroll for 2025 is estimated to be roughly $303.5 million. Keep in mind, this is before the Dodgers add another outfielder, and they will almost certainly add at least one if not two relievers as well as Clayton Kershaw and maybe even another starting pitcher." Of course that's before Tanner Scott, doesn't account for Ohtani and various deferrals, Enrique Hernandez and Clayton Kershaw. So somewhere in the $320-325 million range...heading straight north for $350 million. Or SEVEN times the expected White Sox payroll with Benintendi and Robert Jr. still included.

Almost beats the Benintendi and Grandal deals, lol...and once again takes a player away from the Padres. A reliever that they emptied out their farm system to pursue for their very best shot at LA last fall...that now just costs Dodgers Money. Fwiw, they're just dancing on Peter Seidler's grave. Snell Sasaki Scott. Only surprised no HaSeong Kim. Really hope that AJ Preller waves the White Flag, capitulates, and gets whatever he can between now and ST for Cease King Arraez Suarez and maybe can even dump Cronenworth as well on a team (well, other than the Dodgers.) Murakami's comin' soon enough.

Dodgers land closer Tanner Scott with 4-year, $72M, sources say ESPN Jan 19, 2025, 11:05 AM ET Closer Tanner Scott and the Los Angeles Dodgers in agreement on a four-year, $72 million contract, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Sunday. It's the latest offseason splash for the Dodgers, who also are signing prized Japanese pitching prospect Roki Sasaki, who announced the news on social media Friday. Scott, 30, was 9-6 with 22 saves and a 1.75 ERA last season pitching for the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres. espn.com

Sox Announce All Their Theme Nights
What about "WestEddy finally admits we're not breaking 60 wins day???" I know that's going to be pushed as tremendous progress regardless, even 55 wins...and compared to the 2023 KC Royals before their breakthrough last season, ad nauseam.

5D Chess in order to throw you off. Oblique. The normal head on Balta Blitzkrieg tactics doesn't seem to be particularly effective so going with Trump Style of being totally un predictable and errratic. Except one core truism: Make (LA) Dodgers Great Again. MLADGA.
