  1. This is a good point.
  2. If he’s not given away for Pennie’s on the dollar he is absolutely getting bought out at the end of the year. While I can understand the premise behind not trading him after 2023 the team was in the process of a total tear down and there was no way Robert was going to be around on his current deal by the time they were going to be good again. I would rather b**** about not getting enough for him than what’s going on right now. It was an unnecessary gamble and a real kick in the nuts for expediting this rebuild.
  3. Seriously, that lame argument of “they’d never get value” is such a stupid line of thinking that has now turned out to making him worth nothing.
  4. Couldn’t be any worse than the 2-14 they are against the ALC
  5. Yep, you wouldn’t have any idea this team was 18-41 only listening to the broadcast
  6. I really enjoy how bad Baltimore is. I’ve wanted them to fail so badly after their douchey fans invaded the board and they haven’t disappointed. They have no pitching and all their prospects are struggling, pretty much the exact opposite all their fans predicted. Love to see it.
  7. Well tends to happen when you don’t play the guy hitting .180
  8. Yeah, not sure what the hell he was thinking
  9. Just leave the field, 3 outs. He tried some b**** move and barely touched him, let it go.
  10. Ahh baseball, where two shitty teams gotta act like tough guys
  11. I think it’s more this team sucks and he doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t care.
  12. The Sox rank near the bottom of the league in stats like avg, obp, slugging, ops. They aren’t really improved much from last year in that regard. Now a lot of that has to do with the roster still filled with bad players, so if by improved you mean they’re 28th instead of 30th then sure, they’ve improved.
  13. Sure, its definitely positive what he has done over the stretch. I would just like to see it last the rest of the season before believing hand placement has all of the sudden turned him into a superstar.
  14. Meh, Vargas is hitting .245 with a .767 OPS and that took a massive hot streak to even get to those mediocre numbers. Ill believe it when I see it sustained, but it is better than watching him hit .190 and be totally worthless.
  15. 2024: 15-41 2025: 18-38 Nobody is blinded here, this team is just as bad as they were last year so far and just because you enjoy watching Meidroth, Vargas, Quero, and Smith doesn't mean you should trick yourself into thinking this is enjoyable. This is still going to be a long miserable season with a lot of bad baseball. I totally understand how there are some more enjoyable things about it, but we don't need to pretend that this team has taken some massive leap from 2024. They haven't.
  16. 20 games under .500 in May, if you’re enjoying it more power to you but this team is garbage. At least there are some young bright spots this time around, I’ll give you that much.
  17. I agree, he’s not a long term play but it’s better than throwing some 34 year old turd out there that’s going to hit .190 and offer nothing at all.
  18. They’re never going to get on a roll, don’t do that to yourself. This is the same old story, they are awful then win a couple games then everyone’s like “hey maybe they’re coming around” and then they do something like today.
  19. I don't know, depending on who they are able to deal away near the deadline this year this team could still get much worse.
  20. Gee imagine that. Everyone who has opened their mouth after leaving here has pretty much said the same thing. This organization sucks top to bottom.
  21. Well let’s see. The Sox failed Luis Robert, in no specific order, by not meaningfully improving the roster. By not doing real searches to improve coaching or front office staff. By being woefully behind the times in advancements in analytics and preparation. By failing to develop anything to support the main roster. You’ve heard the comments from players that have left this organization, they are a total dumpster fire, they’ve absolutely played a part in failing a lot of players that have come through here.
  22. But its a "meatball" take that this organization is the reason players under-perform here.....
  23. They are either going to dump him for an awful return or he's going to get his option declined. Never in a million years would I have guessed this was going to be Luis Roberts fate.
  24. Noah Schultz has been pretty bad this year so far, which I am sure he is referencing. Only been 36 IP so far though.
  25. I definitely agree with this, he's not a high upside guy, but he already here so why don't you fire Polacios into the sun since Slater is back and use Baldwin more in that utility IF role? It's not like we need to be saving him or anything. Its because they for whatever reason signed ML deals to guys like Tauchman, Taylor, and Slater who they are going to stick with and the younger guys are the ones getting sent packing.
