  1. Its definitely someone else's fault they weren't better but by no means is Rick Hahn blameless for what happened here.
  2. He's been pretty bad since the start of 2024, I think more people are frustrated with his performance than entertained at this current time to be honest with you. Robert is being paid, and he's not producing, which sadly supports JR's beliefs of not paying these prices for players.
  3. Who would have thought they would replace Amaya with someone worse, if that's what they do of course.
  4. I know we are just throwing stuff at the wall here but If Luis Robert is good enough that you want to keep him around it just makes no sense to decline his option and risk losing him for a comp pick at the end of the first or second round. If he's good enough to keep, you'll get more than that in a trade anyways.
  5. Look at it this way, you would have to decline his option ($2M) and then offer a QO ($21M+) for a total investment of around $23-24M dollars in an attempt to MAYBE get a draft pick. However, if you are OK with having him back at that price then you would be foolish to not just opt in to him at $20M.
  6. It doesn't make any sense anyways, why would you decline a $20M option only to offer him MORE money?
  7. I would rather get anything for him than letting him walk for nothing. I can't see a scenario where he struggles/gets hurt again this year and the Sox pick up a $20 million option on him. They can get out of the deal for $2 million, its kind of a no brainer as much as I want to see Robert be the player we've seen before. If he gets hot leading up to the trade deadline and the offers aren't anything you like, sure, it makes sense then to keep him around and maybe something better comes up over the winter or into next season. This depends on Robert though, because if he's a .600-.650 OPS guy there's just no way they pick that option up. Were getting that production from guys like Baldwin, Taylor, Slater, and Tauchman for a fraction of the cost.
  8. There was zero reason to not deal him after 2023 especially when you know you are about to nuke your roster and start from ground zero. There is no reason to continue to roster a superstar caliber player on a 110+ loss team for several seasons. All I can remember about this was the handful of posters who were adamant that you couldn't trade him because he had 3+ years of control and was so valuable you would never get what he's worth. Well, that worked out great didn't it.
  9. Draft lottery’s are so dumb. The mavs were in the play in tournament and get the 1st overall pick. So stupid.
  10. I heard he said he was a huge Sox fan and loved going to Cominsky Park
  11. Would it really matter? They can’t even beat the teams in their current division.
  12. I still can't believe they chose to pay him 5.8M, I would love to know the thought process behind that. All those mock moves sound great, and HOPEFULLY we see some close to that in the coming month or so. This team sucks, but they aren't going to break the loss record again. They are slowly starting to integrate the younger guys who aren't totally worthless and I think that will be enough to win around 47-49 games.
  13. That trade was absolute garbage from day 1. It reeked of a bad GM trying to rapidly improve a roster and did absolutely nothing to improve the future of this disaster.
  14. lol when one poster. I see what you did there.
  15. I understand that the majority of this roster is junk but I can't understand why a guy like Palacios is leading off, ever. We need all the offensive help we can get and this is the guy you want getting the most at bats? The roster sucks, but you can still make better decisions in regard to lineup construction and we just aren't. There is some different oddball lineup seemingly every day. I don't get it.
  16. This hit a lot harder than I expected. Im 40 years old, but have known a lot of people on this board since I was 18 years old and even though I have never met any of them in person I still feel like I know exactly who they are and have a real relationship with them in my life. Some of it has spilled over into other forms of online connection, text, etc. but when you stop and think about it, that is a long time to have someone in your life in some way and its just fucking awful to hear this. Very tough seeing this today.
  17. Probably because he threw the ball away there at 2nd
  18. Vaughn has put up exactly 0 bWAR in 5+ years at the MLB level. 595 games, 2,395 plate appearances. If he was just straight up released tomorrow there shouldn't be anyone who thinks "wow, they gave up on him pretty quickly." How this was used as dig at people overreacting is wild.
  19. I find it hilarious were into May and mother nature has more saves (2) than the White Sox (1). Hell even the Rockies have 5 saves.
  20. Yea, the hat is good. I like the one with the white panel better though.
  21. I wanted to like these unis, but man they are bad.
  22. Keep him, we can use him for our playoff run. Were only 9 out of the wild card.
  23. Yeah I’m sure. We have 1 kid that can throw low 70s and one that’s like 65-67. Majority of the kids we face throw 45-50 and can’t throw strikes.
  24. 13. The league we're in we have like 72 kids. Some of these other leagues in the Houston area have thousands of kids, so we have no where close to the talent pool and typically get killed in these LL tournys.
