Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
They need to go 12-10 to avoid 120 losses, zero chance that happens. They most likely go 5-17 and finish with 126 losses. And I think 5 is generous, this team has nothing.

Fire Chris Getz
If JR had any pride he would realize he made a terrible mistake trying to not “waste a year” and completely clean house. What’s happening here is unprecedented and will most likely never be seen again. Well, unless he does nothing then I can see the 2025 White Sox saying “hold my beer”.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
I can’t believe they’re really going to lose 120+ games. It shouldn’t be possible to be this bad, and it’s not like they’re just unlucky they are legit atrocious in all facets. The Marlins and Rockies are terrible, and even they probably get 60 wins. We’re almost 30 games worse than that. Incredible.

9/1 GT - Mets at Sox (1:10pm CT)
Yeah, this is literally the worst baseball team of all time. In 2024, incredible how that’s even possible.

9/1 GT - Mets at Sox (1:10pm CT)
It doesn’t matter how much money he has to spend, he’s done nothing at all to instill confidence that he can make good moves.

Yeah I don’t want to hear any excuses for Getz, his roster construction is a huge part of why this is about to be record setting bad.

The sad thing is, you’re right. This team will probably be worse next year.

This is going to go down as the worst season in professional sports history.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
That was a great trade for the Royals, but like you said it was way against the odds. Ragans was not a blue chip prospect and he was pretty bad as well at the time of the trade as a 25 year old. The Royals should be thrilled with how that worked out.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
DeLoach has 9 games under his belt, his minor league performance is encouraging and even if he just becomes a 4th OFer the trade then becomes a slam dunk because as I said previously, 100 loss teams have no use for good relievers. You can make the argument that Santos doesn't even fall under that category as he one good season of 66 IP. Santos did have value, that's why the Sox got 2 close to MLB ready prospects and a draft pick for him. Its hard for me to not see this one as anything but a win, as I have a hard time believing you were getting anything more valuable than the package we got back. As far as Cease goes, who knows what kind of performance he would have had on this team this season. Im still happy with the package we got back as I think Thorpe is definitely an MLB pitcher, Iriarte looks promising, and I still believe in Sammy Zavala. Hes a 19 year old in Advanced A ball who had a 17% walk rate, 22% K rate, and has some pop. Not ready to call him a bust just yet.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
Well they have already gone 0-3 in the stretch where I thought they could go 5-10. I don't think there is anyway they go 5-7 so I may have to revise my 38 win prediction down a couple notches.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
When you consider how bad our team is, how bad our team will be for a while, and the wasteland of our minor leagues I would say getting 3 prospects for an injured middle reliever with no track record of sustained success was definitely a win for the White Sox. DeLoach didn't do anything in his very brief stint at the MLB level, but hes 25 and hit .285 with a .777 OPS at the AAA level so at least there's a chance you can get something out of him even if its a 4th OFer. Berroa is a 24 year old reliever, the results aren't there but if they can get his walks under control you have something. Hes got a big time arm. And then of course the draft pick, a LHP prep arm who alone I would have rather had than some reliever throwing 50 innings on a 120 loss team. The other thing to consider here is Santos threw a whole 5 innings for the Mariners this season and who knows if he will ever do anything close to what he did in 2023 again.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
The Santos trade was a no doubt successful trade. 100 loss teams have no use for good relievers so getting essentially 3 prospects for him is an easy win.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
Yep, that's pretty obvious by how nothing at all has changed since he took over.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
Oh boy, this team is so bad and the future is so bleak. They literally need starting MLB caliber players at 8 of 9 spots on offense and the one they have (Robert) isn't making a strong case for it.

5-move day: Ramos and Peralta called up, Bush sent down, Senzel jettisoned and Jacob Amaya claimed. Ramos back down, Amaya up.
No kidding. In trying to not waste a year he probably ended up wasting 3+ years. The decision to hand over control to an in house unqualified GM has set this organization back so far its not even funny. Its likely that JR never sees a winning Sox team again in his lifetime. And its no ones fault but his own.

lol I don't even know if you can count 50 people in this picture.

I don't see them winning 9 games over these last 30. @ Baltimore (3), @ Boston (3), Vs. Cleveland (3), @ San Diego (3), @ Detroit (3) is 15 games against people still fighting for playoff positioning. I think Baltimore, Boston, and San Diego all sweep them at home. They take 1 from Cleveland and Detroit to go 2-13 here. Vs Texas (3), Vs New York Mets (3), Vs Oakland (3), @ Los Angeles Angels (3), Vs. Los Angeles Angels (3) is 15 games against bad teams that are still way better than our bad team. 5-10 here. That puts them at 38 wins as my guess. It will be very surprising to see them get to 40 wins.

So I guess were just going to roll with Nicky Lopez leading off the rest of the season and giving at bats to Gavin Sheets instead of seeing what some of these kids can do on this team that's 70 games under .500 in August...

Thorpe update...
Well of course, those coaches don’t give a s%*# about those kids it’s all about winning that LLWS

2025 Old Sock Drawer
Can't say im surprised to see how well the majority of these guys are doing after leaving this horrible organization.
-
Sox planning more playing time for Vargas/Fletcher
They had the first game against the Cubs that was interesting and then the 12-2 winner against the Yankees, otherwise its been the same ol s%*# of no offense at all and the bullpen imploding.

Expand the Playoffs and Start in September
I wish they would format it so the wildcard is a best of 5 and all other series are best of 7.

Stone not sure he will be back in 25, season "wearing on him"
You don't have to like the guy, but Stone is no dummy. He's a very sharp baseball mind, and I can't imagine its enjoyable to sit here and watch this terrible team play 162 games just completely screwing up the simplest and basic fundamental things. Much like the other night when Bellinger scored when he should have been thrown out by a mile, that just can't happen on a major league team. That's little league stuff that 8,9,10 year olds are learning.

Jake Burger trade
The trade looks like a bust so far for the Sox. Im not trying to argue the trade was good. Trading Burger, was absolutely the right move. Last time I checked, the Marlins were 30 games under .500 I don't think they're running a victory lap about this trade either.
