  1. Brad Miller reportedly signs with the Rockets http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5388602 3 years/$15 million.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 10:53 PM) Q. Richardson is terrible now. He shoots a ton of 3 pointers, and does nothing else. I'd rather have Korver/Redick. Dude said he hadn't seen him and was going out on a limp. Don't limp, man. Walk proud.
  3. Jayson Nix went hit 6 homeruns in 8 games earlier this month. Good for him. I'm not sad that he's gone, but it would've been nice if he did something--anything--for the Sox while he was with the team this year.
  4. Did anyone see Lerew smile after the Viciedo bomb? Do you think he was thinking "This is so bad it's funny" or "Thank goodness they're going to get me out of this game?"
  5. Who is running the pool for his first base on balls? I'm thinking September.
  6. Any ideal on an innings cap this year for this guy?
  7. I didn't ever think I'd see Marquez in the majors.
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) Seeing as how they're 7 games out of the wild card we really should go hard after Josh Johnson right now. He's look pretty good in the middle of our rotation. I think you're kidding. Are you kidding? Johnson would probably be the first or second-best pitcher in our rotation. I don't think the Marlins signed him to an extension just so they could trade him after the team had one bad half-season.
  9. Where were you when he pitched last year? I don't have any scouting info, but his K:BB has been excellent in the minors. It was not very good during his brief run in the majors last year. Any prospect is a potential flame-out, but he should be good.
  10. Did anyone see that VDN will be the new Clips coach? I just saw that now. I'm sure it was mentioned in Chicago sports radio.
  11. Mat Latos had another very nice start tonight. It seems like he never gets any love.
  12. I think you might be better off looking at poverty as opposed to red/blue. I'd also wonder about urban vs. rural/suburban.
  13. The guy the Rays released him in favor of has been decent for the Giants.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) And even if Yao plays fewer minutes than Phil, he'll make your team one of the most marketable in the NBA and make your jerseys the most popular ones in the world. Do teams get money from selling their own jerseys overseas? I thought that they just got money for all of the NBA-licensed apparel sold in their respective local markets. Or maybe I'm confusing the NBA with another league.
  15. Why do DJ and Farmer pronounce Johnson as Jone-son? They do this for anyone named Johnson. Strange.
  16. Thanks for another racist, hate-filled post.
  17. So how do we keep Detroit and Minny from playing the NL teams? It's pretty silly that this run is changing KW's strategy, as they haven't made up significant ground.
  18. Fun thread. With a minor league OPS of almost .700, Sergio Santos presumably could put put a major league OPS of .400 or .500 or so (he really struggled in the higher leagues).
  19. Cito Gaston unleashed Dweezy in the leadoff spot tonight. A dumb move pays off, as he's 2-2 with a double so far.
  20. So Kenny reportedly confronted Ozzie about saying he'd pay his kid not to sign. Presumably Ozzie was pissed about the draft position and did his small part to undermine the team by telling one of their draft picks not to sign. I have no problem with him acting as a father and giving advice to his kid that may be to the organization's detriment, but he doesn't have to flaunt that in public.
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) What I mean is, Vizquel is obviously better defensively, and his bat looks as good as Mark, ever since he started getting playing time. I know. I was giving you s***. Omar has played well lately. I don't think he should be confused for an every day player, though, whereas I think Teahen is at least a fringe every day player.
  22. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) I wonder how Omar compares to Teahen since Mark went on the DL. Well, Mark Teahen has reached base 0 times since going on the DL. Heh.
  23. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) He had like 14 Ks in 5 innings two starts ago. Correction: 14 Ks, 5.2 innings. That's pretty crazy.
