  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) Scherzer struck out the side in the first, save for Vizquel. He had like 14 Ks in 5 innings two starts ago.
  2. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) I'm wondering if they'll even keep BP as a sponsor. The whole thing feels kind of dirty. The only thing that would make it worse is if all three games are played in the type of weather that we are having today. Good Lord I hope 2011 is different. I spent all of last winter counting down days until spring training... for this? Blah. I heard on the radio that BP will be downplaying their sponsorship just because they are trying to keep a low profile right now.
  3. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 08:29 AM) Are there blackout restrictions on MLB tv? I live close enough to The Cell to get blacked out on MLB Extra Innings (they also blackout the Cubs, Cards and Brewers) but not close enough to get WCIU. Does anyone know if I will be able to watch the Sox live on WCIU via MLB.TV? TIA You will be blacked out.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Mitchell would be banging on the door with an MVP Year in the Southern League. What?
  5. Ok, I give up. What does this soccer league have to do with social justice?
  6. Missouri has mile markers every .1 miles on some stretches of highway. Indiana has them every .2 miles on some stretches. They both seemed excessive to me (as does every .25 miles).
  7. No manager would do that. MLB would fine the team and manager into oblivion.
  8. Wade's comments suggest that he really only cares about other superstars. Not including former superstars = not including former players. It's the average players who actually need the job post-basketball.
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) In other news, YES! Can't believe Buehrle got tossed, but we won anyways. Haven't won anything yet.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) Thanks for the info, I wonder what the story is. I suspect that Hawk just likes his name and it has "bat" in it.
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 26, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) All right, what the hell does, "Madabatacola" or whatever it is that Hawk says mean? http://wscr.cbslocal.com/matt-abbatacola/ Producer and part-time host on 670 The Score (White Sox flagship station). I don't know why Hawk uses his name for broken bats.
  12. This is the first time I remember this season where they could've used a long guy in the pen.
  13. Ed Farmer says that the Bulls aren't bringing Phil back. Heh.
  14. Ed Farmer stating that Phil Jackson isn't going to the Bulls. Ha.
  15. I thought that I read on mlb.com that they would pay all player contracts including deferred payments to former players. Not so?
  16. I'm trying to figure out how I can pin this on Dubya.
  17. Ha. I was willing to concede that it was Young because I had been watching on my netbook and reading at the same time. I was watching in the 9th, though. I guess it would be silly if I confused a LHB with a RHB. Anyway, Span did hit it hard--just not hard enough. It was the fist pump that was amusing.
  18. LOL @ Denard Span. Bases loaded, tie game, 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth. He hits a 3-1 pitch deep to right and shoots his arm in the air triumphantly. Corey Hart then goes to the warning track and catches it fairly easily. Span sheepishly tosses his helmet off. I guess they're still not used to playing in that park.
  19. Why do any conservatives--or anyone, really--give two s***s about beauty pageants? First that California gal and now this. Crikey.
