QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 05:36 PM) Signed a MiLB contract this spring and is (clearly) in camp with the Sox. He spent some time in the Mariners' low minors before getting as high as AAA with the tribe. Generic AAAA shortstop from what I can tell. Has some pop for a shortstop but no other standout tools and struggles with contact. Holy s***, he's a SS? He's gigantic. Looked like 6'4.

ST: 3/9 vs D-backs 3:05
Nope, Micah thrown at at 2nd, and then some guy named Juan Diaz blasted an opposite field bomb to RF.

I assume he will swipe 2nd standing up now...

ST: 3/9 vs D-backs 3:05
Lol. Micah bunted it to the pitcher and beat it out kind of easily.

Rodon believes he's ready now
I believe there are 2 financially sound deadlines to wait for on Rodon, correct? The "extra year of control" dead that will pass sometime in early May, maybe? And the "1 less year of arb" deadline, which is usually sometime mid-June, right?

2015 TV Thread
Last Man on Earth is pretty good, I like it. Only seem 1 episode of Kimmy so far, but I thought it was great.

Technology catch-all thread
I don't understand why anyone would buy an Apple watch. It's just so frivolous, IMO.

3/5 ST: White Sox vs Dodgers 2pm MLB Network
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) I think no game threads until Hawk's mythical 1/3rd Memorial Day assessments. "It's what you do with the other 42 games...."

3/5 ST: White Sox vs Dodgers 2pm MLB Network
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) When did I ever write that? Evaluating future performance based on these games is silly. That is what I wrote. If noting that someone had a good/bad game is your idea of evaluating future performances, as if we were extrapolating that data to mean anything, then this thread if going to be just as infuriating for you as yesterday's.

3/5 ST: White Sox vs Dodgers 2pm MLB Network
I hope Dick Allen doesn't find this game thread. He is going to be pissed off that people are watching meaningless baseball 2 days in a row.

2015 Films thread
I guess this goes in the Films thread, but Louis CK's newest stand-up "Live at the Comedy Store" is just amazing. He's my favorite of all-time, so I'm a little biased, but I think this was his best standup in years. I think this may rank 3rd after Chewed Up and Shameless for him. Just like all his stuff, you can only get it on his website, and it's $5. Totally worth that $5 to download. Highly, highly recommend. I had tears in my eyes during his rat f***ing joke towards the end. https://www.louisck.net/purchase/live-at-the-comedy-store

3/4 ST: White Sox vs Dodgers
Avi looked great, Eaton looked great, Jose looked Jose (Jose is a synonym for great), Penny looked real good in that 2nd inning, painting the corner. Sanchez and Hawkins looked awful. Shuck made a spectacular catch. Closed the gap on that ball in no time. Beckham looked horrible a the plate, but made a very slick pick at 3B to start the game. Saladino made a very nice play in the hole. Basically, the team pretty much dominated defensively. Avi and Shuck with the slick catches in RF. Beckham and Saladino with nice plays. Brantly's missed pop-up behind home was the only mistake I noticed, and I think it's cause he was worried about the pile of bats he was running towards. Dodgers announcers said that Mark Parent is going to give him an earful for that, but I think Parent would be more upset if Brantly ran full sprint for that and broke his leg on a pile of bats on the 1st ST game of the year. I think he'll get a pass.

Rodon to start Friday
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 07:09 AM) I have to imagine the White Sox will stream this on the site with Beltin' Bill struggling through play-by-play. Melton is excited to see what this young kid Carlin Radbone has to show in his 1st big league camp.

2015 Videogame thread
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 27, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) A few MLBTS player ratings were leaked yesterday (the real ones, not some random blogger's). For the White Sox, Sale is 93, Abreu 88, and Melky 82. Yep, I am looking at the video right now and have it paused on the Sox roster screen...they are..... Sale - 93 Abreu - 89 Robertson - 86 Samardzija/Alexei - 84 Melky - 82 Eaton/Bonifacio/LaRoche/Q - 80 Jones - 78 Crain - 75 Flowers - 74 Danks/Putnam - 73

It's a lot to trade for 2 expiring contracts, but if they can hold out until Kaner comes back, it will hopefully be worth it.

mlb network top 100 players right now.
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 11:28 PM) My prediction is that Sale and Abreu are the only 2 left for the Sox. Highly doubtful if anyone at MLB Network realizes that Q>Samardzija. I think Alexei has a chance considering they said that they consider defense in their rankings. Sale - 7, Abreu - 18. Top 10 prediction: Trout, Kershaw, Cutch, Felix, Stanton, Miggy, Sale, Posey, Bumgarner (Because MLB Network is obsessed with him), Price. Ugh, I was close. Trout was 2, not 1. Kershaw was 1, not 2. Cutch was 6, not 3. Felix was 3, not 4. Stanton was 4, not 5. Miggy was 7, not 6. Sale was 5, not 7. Posey was 8! Yay! Bumgarner was 26, not 9 (I didn't think he should be 9 either, I just know they suck his dick on the reg.) Price was 25, not 10. I did guess Goldschmidt would be #13, and I nailed that one. So I'm pleased.
