White Privilege?
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 11:19 AM) Also on this story, last night was apparently pretty terrifying, as threats to students on "yikyak" caused a lockdown and a bunch of crazy rumors to fly around. I'd never heard of yikyak, but basically its an anonymous social service, which seems like a terrible idea. They found the kid who posted it today saying he was going to kill a bunch of black students. Yik Yak is basically 4Chan/Reddit combined, but only for local communities. It's really popular at universities.

White Privilege?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 01:46 AM) My question to you is ... aren't the protesters at Mizzou on a slippery slope. The school has 7 percent blacks and 93 percent whites I believe I read. At what point does the 93 percent tire of their school being portrayed as unbelievably racist when frankly there haven't been that many incidents. At what point do the protesters calm down a bit and work with the school officials on racism at Mizzou rather than appear to be a bit bully-ish. Or do you think what they're doing is fine? Missouri isn't just black and white Greg. The school is 77% white and 23% minority.

Chris Sale did not finish in the top-3 for AL Cy Young voting
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) fWAR is the preferable metric for pitchers. Anyway, thanks White Sox defense! bWAR is supposed to judge based on ERA and defense. Apparently, whatever metric they used thought Sale didn't pitch in front of a bad defense...that's laughable.

Chris Sale did not finish in the top-3 for AL Cy Young voting
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 05:41 PM) Gray, Keuchel, and Price are the finalists. Sale's ERA was 3.41, but he had the lowest FIP in the AL. Sale had 2.4 more fWAR than Gray. Gray had 2.5 more bWAR than Sale. How Sale only had 3.3 bWAR last year is beyond me...

Former Sox pitcher Tommy Hanson passes away at 29
So unfortunate. It seems like he had some issues with breathing on Sunday and he's dead just a day later. That's crazy.

Houston almost did the same dance he did when he tore his ACL.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) No QO for David Freese. 2 WAR 3B. Not sure what the cost will be. Maybe $10 million a year for 2-3 years. He might be worth a gamble, although you shouldn't expect anything more than league average offense and a decent glove. It's not ideal out of your 3B, but it's a huge upgrade over the alternatives for us.

Indians decline Ryan Raburn's option
The only reason to sign him is so we don't have to face him.

Nationals screw over Bud Black, hire Dusty Baker
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 11:38 AM) Baker is probably one of the most underappreciated managers. Guy took the Giants to the series, then did amazing for the Cubs (Prior and Wood's arms would have blown up with any manager....not just Dusty)...then goes to the Reds and they win. Oh and with the exception of the Giants (who are a great organization), the Cubs and Reds went into the crapper after Baker left. Baker will do a great job for the Nats. Dusty didn't help Wood or Prior. Let's not forget he also ruined Volquez before the Pirates resurrected him. Cueto didn't have the best injury history either under Dusty. With a Nationals team that features fragile arms in Strasburg and possibly Giolito next year, the front office better have Dusty on a leash in regards to innings and pitch limits.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 11:09 PM) Haha. I found it more funny that Olsen catches the next play one handed. Yup he showed him how to catch a ball. Then Ginn catches an absolute bullet falling to the ground...come on man.

**2015 World Series - Mets vs Royals**
QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) Harold Reynolds is just unbelievably bad. How can they not do better than him? Harold Reynolds said Kelly Johnson could "hit home runs with the best of them" last night when he was put in as a pinch hitter. Kelly Johnson, the guy with a .172 career ISO. Another Fox analyst tidbit: I was re-watching some 05 WS stuff last night and while I've seen Pods' HR about a hundred times, I noticed something last night. McCarver literally jinxed Lidge right before the pitch of the HR. Buck asked McCarver if Garner should have pitched Lidge in game 6 of the NLCS to get the taste out of his mouth from giving up that monstrous HR to Pujols. McCarver replied with "I don't think that taste exists". Right after he said it, boom, walk-off HR.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) I believe two things about Gase. 1) Gase is doing less with more on the offensive side than Fangio is on the defensive side 2) Gase is gone next year. I'm hopeful, but I'm not assuming Fangio doesn't get the call. The Niners should have made Fangio head coach. Half of their team probably wouldn't have retired...

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 12:13 AM) How badly did Murphy screw himself on the free agent market? Yikes I hope we stay away from him, hes a meme. Cespedes screwed himself too.

**2015 World Series - Mets vs Royals**
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 11:23 PM) I'm sure there's plenty of teams before 1980 that hit fewer than 139 homers. The Royals actually hit a few homers this year. Perez, Moustakas, Hosmer, and Morales were all around 20. In the current run environment, that's actually pretty decent.

**2015 World Series - Mets vs Royals**
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 11:22 PM) Leaving Harvey in after the walk was bad. How does Niese not go out there for a second inning. How bad is the national league? I don't get the rationale of throwing Niese for only one inning. He's a god damn starting pitcher. Let him go 3 innings for all I care.

**2015 World Series - Mets vs Royals**
So with the Royals winning it all, they're probably going to re-sign Gordon. They might even have the space to sign a decent pitcher to replace Cueto.

**2015 World Series - Mets vs Royals**
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 11:16 PM) I don't think I've seen a player choke so much defensively than Murphy has in quite some time. He's not really a second baseman.
