  1. Royals, Guardians, Brewers and Dbacks seem like the contenders with picks.
  2. Agreed here. To me it’s Cags, Griffin or JJ unless Bazzana or Condon fell somehow. I really don’t think the Sox want to give anyone $7.7 million though.
  3. I think it’s the opposite in a bad draft. You want as many good players as possible.
  4. Not sure I’d go to that either but someone takes him before that probably. Could even be someone at $3 million. Just saying in general.
  5. I'd tell Caglianone that the bonus is $7 million at #5 and see if he takes it. That's the difference between 6-7 and I doubt he goes 6. It allows the Sox to save another $760K. Add that to the $730K overage and picks 9 and 10 and they'd have an extra $1.8 million to play with. Could theoretically go to $4 million at #43. That's Ryan Sloan territory.
  6. Griffin being mentioned with Sox recently is hilarious. He’s been tied to them for months.
  7. Man I’d be scared to death. So many tools but nobody strikes out that often in college and improves it in the pros I think Cags is rated higher for them. @Harold's Leg Lifthas been saying it’s Cags if he’s in the board. I have no reason to doubt him.
  8. Keith Law mock draft today has Sox taking Caglianone. Says he’s option A and Griffin is next. We’d heard similar on this board.
  9. Depends on how much each guy costs for me. It’s huge part of this process. The pitchers are flawed too though and I have confidence in them finding pitching in rounds 2-5 where I don’t with bats.
  10. Come on. He’s nothing like Nick Madrigal
  11. I’d be really surprised.
  12. He has to. Can’t negotiate down the hitters if the pitchers aren’t an option.
  13. Give me one of the 2 best players in the class at #5 haha!
  14. That list is rough imo. Weird order
  15. The White Sox play Gavin Sheets in the outfield so nothing should be surprising.
  16. Sure. The prep guys have nowhere to play this year so they’ll be hanging out in Arizona. The issue is that you can’t create players who don’t exist. I just don’t love taking college bats in rounds 3-6 or so and HS bats are expensive and it’s a weak class.
  17. I did a five round White Sox mock for today: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/09/five-round-mock-draft-2-0-white-sox/
  18. It’s about fit. Ortiz will be 28-29 by the time Sox are ready to win. I’d much prefer the Padres package Sox will have the top pick!
  19. Which is why Crochet to the Orioles is extremely unlikely to happen.
  20. I have no idea. I've only really heard Sox connected to Griffin, Cags and Wetherholt. I don't know what they'd do with one of those others on the board.
  21. I think so. I’d take both prep guys over him too.
  22. He can't get moving. Nobody is trading right now with the MLB Draft next Sunday-Tuesday. It'll all happen after that.
  23. Nobody I've talked to thinks that Caglianone can actually play the outfield. I was told that Chris Getz valued defense. Also, if you're drafting Cags, you're drafting the bat. Just put him at 1B and hope he mashes.
  24. I released mock draft 3.0 at FutureSox today: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/08/futuresox-2024-mlb-mock-draft-3-0/
