  1. What’s funny is any new owner would immediately fire Getz and bring in an external replacement.
  2. Brand new franchise loss record and we still have a month to go!
  3. My children might attempt to emancipate after having endure the horror that is the 2024 White Sox offense.
  4. All that being said, it’s wild that we once went from having a quartet of Thomas, Konerko, Ordonez, & Lee at the traditional power positions to Vaughn, Sheets, Fletcher, & Benintendi. What an abomination of an offense.
  5. I would take Robert in a heartbeat over PCA. Robert doesn’t have single legitimate hitter to provide him protection and is playing for the worst team in baseball history. Put him on a competitive club and I’d wager serious money he’s back to his normal star self.
  6. It’s going to be interesting to see how bad the anti-tanking rules ultimately f*** us. A lot easier to rebuild quickly when you have top two or three bonus pools to work with for several years in a row. And with Jerry not acting like a large market owner and a potentially incompetent front office, it’s within the realm of possibly that we are never a serious playoff threat for the duration of Jerry’s life.
  7. Kids already whining about having to watch the “sucky” White Sox. I’m holding strong…experiencing a team this bad helps build character and will make them realize the dangers of wealthy senior citizens with unchecked power.
  8. Have woke up and decided I want to inflict some torturous White Sox baseball on my Cubs fan wife and our three children. This will be my third and likely final game of the season, all of which will have been started by Crochet, with the previous games both ending in losses. Can the Sox pull off win #32 today or will this be the first season in like 30 years in which I did not witness a win in person? Can’t wait to find out! Go Sox!
  9. We’re on pace for 125 losses…that would shatter the modern day record.
  10. Nothing wrong with fans venting about being stuck with an unqualified and completely over-his-head GM when we’re in the midst of the worse season in baseball history. This has been a damaging season for many of us and I have accepted the fact my sons will never be diehard Sox fans because of how bad Jerry and his incompetent group of lieutenants have destroyed the franchise and how many years it’s going to take to right this ship with them in charge. And the fact that he’s in year one doesn’t prevent us from assessing him on his performance so far. Yes, the org needs a lot of long-term transformation and that will obviously take time, but in the interim we can be disappointed with most of the trades Getz has made, question their pro scouting of positional players, and not give him a free pass for an inability to develop minor league hitters given he inherited that lack of infrared from himself.
  11. The only good news is he may never see a winning Sox team again in his life and he has certainly hurt the value of the franchise some which means less proceeds for his heirs. Sucks to be so petty, but hope is at an all-time low for Sox fans right now.
  12. Until he can hit, he’s nothing more than a 4th OF, which is still an upgrade over Sheets.
  13. Wow, had no idea they released Erick Hernandez. Paddy needs to be replaced ASAP if his $1M signing can’t even make it to Low A ball.
  14. Hodson assuming ownership of this franchise and immediately cleaning is the dream of all dreams.
  15. It’ actually bizarre that Moncada doesn’t want to try and build up his value. He’s potentially costing himself a lot of money by sitting.
  16. Quero with the 1.000+ OPS at the moment
  17. Let’s give him some time. He just went from the Dodgers to the White Sox…that has to be a demoralizing adjustment.
  18. I just don’t know what we’re expecting from Vaughn. He’s got a 98 wRC+ over his last ~1,000 plate appearances and just seems like a very flawed hitter who will never be part of good core. With only two years of control left, I just don’t feel like he’s worth holding in hopes of finally figuring it out. But if you have a LH 1B & DH, maybe he’s worth using as a platoon option if the salary is cheap enough.
  19. Bell is definitely an option, but has been very ordinary the past couple of years. But ordinary is probably an upgrade from Vaughn & Sheets.
  20. If they go out and fix their LatAm operations right now, it will take years before we start seeing any fruits from it. 100% needs to happen, but to your point it’s going to take a long to right this ship. I will say that adding a Director of Hitting and enhancing our general approach to hitting development could have a much quicker payoff, but that’s also much more challenging to execute. And that still doesn’t address the lack of high ceiling positional talent in the system. But when your drafts generally lean heavy pitching and you don’t have a LA pipeline worth a damn, it shouldn’t be surprising we have few of those players.
