While I’m leaning torwards dealing Abreu if value can be had, ultimately I have no problem keeping him around for a while. I would move him to DH and let Davidson be the primary 1B if we decide to hold onto him.

I think Madrigal & Rivera will be the middle infield at AA with both playing some SS & 2B.

Do we know where his velocity is at this year? He was mid 90’s I believe when we first drafted him, but fell down to the high 80’s / low 90’s last year.

I’d keep him High A the rest of the season. Let him start the 2019 season as a 24 year old in AA. He’d be a little old for the league, but I think that would be a fair assignment.

Gotcha, makes sense then. I do think some people forget how good Cameron actually was because we got Paulis for him. Obviously not the case here.

Cameron put up 50 fWAR in his career (mostly not with us) and Foulke was pretty awesome for us before he was traded for the other two relievers you mentioned. Those two shouldn’t be on a disappointment list unless you’re sad their awesomeness wasn’t with us.

Whether this is the right management team to lead the rebuilding efforts is up for debate, but blaming them for losing right now demonstrates a lack of intelligence as losing comes with the plan. I really hope that's not what you're suggesting.

You don't cut bait on the former #1 overall pitching prospect in baseball for Donn Roach. I get what you're trying to say, but it doesn't apply in this case. We could have given him a shot earlier this year when we needed a starter and we chose Volstad instead.

Sorry, but there isn’t much to get. Your boredom is not a reason to add a bunch of meaningless wins. Tanking isn’t just about a high draft pick. It’s also about giving young players an opportunity to show what they got. Adding a bunch of mediocre veterans takes away that possibility. It also wastes cash that could otherwise be used for more impactful players when the time is right.

And by golly you whine about every single day. Go get a new hobby if the Sox rebuilding causes you so much angst & misery.

Soria K’s three guys, Davidson hits a HR in the top of the 10, and then Volstad blows the save to end the game.

Soria was K’ing close to 11/9 and only walking 2/9 coming into tonight, so I’m not sure why velocity really matters.

At this point I’d consider escaping the inning in a tie as a positive outcome.

The OF would make better use of Yoan’s tools IMO, but he does have the ability to be an elite defensive 2B.
