Feel bad for Ubaldo, Buck kind of screwed him there. He isn't very good and all, but yeesh.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 12, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Sure. Put him in a lineup with Roberto Alomar, Ken Griffey Jr. Jose Canseco, Jimmy Rollins, Sandy Alomar, Adam Dunn and Adam LaRoche. This somewhat pertains to an idea I had for the Marlins to sign ARod and, in the last game of the season, play him at 3rd and Bonds at 1st.

QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) Seeing that lineup just puzzles me. Each individual arent terrible baseball players (a case can be made for some) but as a whole they are yuck. Why is that? Because you can picture a situation where what happened this year happens again, the new faces fizzle out, the familiar faces stink, and we're stuck watching JB Shuck every day?

I doubt he is physically able to be an above average MLB player, but it's such a Rick Hahn move to sign him.

FULFILL THE PROPHECY!!!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) They are rebuilding again. I wouldn't say they are rebuilding again - they were probably unfortunate that they won so many games last year. It convinced a bunch of people (Ryan among them) that they were ready to compete before they really were. They signed a bunch of middling pitchers, who fell apart, but their positional guys are starting to percolate. Sano, Kepler, Polanco are a nice core. They just need Berrios and some of their other pitching prospects to pan out.

White Sox sign Tim Tebow, OF to play CF / DH / life coach
-
We'll figure that out as we go along = He is a reliever but we aren't ready to admit that to the public yet.
-
White Sox sign JI JIM THOME to be new manager / DH / life coach White Sox hire Alex Rodriguez from Yankees to to be new DH / life coach / hitting instructor White Sox spring Lenny Dykstra from probation to be new GM / Treasurer / life coach White Sox hire Jose Canseco to run social media / DH / life coach

I got pissed when Anderson struck out, I really wanted to see his first multi walk game.

Really Narvaez and Kevan Smith should be the catching tandem in the final two months. DFA Navarro, he is a waste of a roster spot.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 06:25 AM) Outcome 2) If JR has the decency to finally do what's right and move on from KW and Hahn (their contracts expire after this season) Was this confirmed? I'd do Hawkins-like backflips if EVERYONE'S contracts were up after this horrible crap season. It doesn't mean they won't be back, but it lessens the likelihood, i'd think.

Adams, Michalczewski to the Dbacks for Welington Castillo. Fulmer, A. Nunez and Danish to Padres for Wil Myers Not trades i'd make, but Hahn is going to be motivated to keep his job by winning in 2017.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) Good point. Now when we discuss potential deals we can discuss recently drafted players as well. I'd like to believe the Sox would target recent draftees, but i'd say they're likely to prioritize MLB or near MLB talent.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) That one is probably predictable. A new manager should be able to pick his own staff. I'm also tired of former Sox players being used. Maybe we can do a Kickstarter to have LaRussa come out of retirement. Not sure if you're joking, but LaRussa is A. Not Retired and B. Currently part of a group dedicated to destroying the AZ Diamondbacks. Like, every time I feel that being a White Sox fan is a never ending dance with misery, I remember the Dbacks exist and it could be worse.

This isn't a fun MLB team to watch, so yeah, probably done for the season. I'll still be paying attention to the MiLB teams, though.

Its also a quote from the 2017 deadline.

Team continues to show no sign of a plan.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) I think the Sox made the right decision in not trading Sale and/or Quintana at the deadline. I think the best time to trade them will be at the Winter Meetings because the upcoming pitching market is historically bad. At the Meetings the Sox can not only get fair value for Sale and Quintana but then some because a team will vastly overpay because of how bad the pitching market is. I know that trades can still be made but I would have liked to see guys like Melky, Robertson and maybe NAte Jones all gone. There is no way that the team is going to make the playoffs, so I was hoping that they would waive the white flag on the season. The Sox are playing for draft position now, let hope that they get back into the top ten There are maybe two contending teams that will look to add a starter and have strong enough farms. Since the price isn't changing, supposedly, we will wait all ofsseason for a team to pay it, while they find other options. Next deadline, when the Sox are below .500 again, we will watch it unfold again. It's like Groundhog Day, being a White Sox fan.

Come hell or high water, they're gonna go for it Against all logic and in the face of all results
