Coats had another big game for Knights in 5-3 loss. 4 for 5, HR, couple doubles. Average up to .322. OPS well over .900.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 29, 2016 -> 08:13 AM) Wasn't Daz Cameron in the same situation last year, then Houston picked in him in the sandwich/2nd round? I looked up his stats a few days ago. Struggling.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) This game isn't on Robin at all Sure it is. He brings Jones in for 6 hitters, gets one out before lifting him. Stayed with him too long, just like yesterday with Robo-choke.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 29, 2016 -> 02:12 AM) I write this every year on a thread and everybody ignores my post on it. Why do baseball owners insist on signing guys to these type deals?? How many times do you hear about such a signing and in a year or less the team is DYING to get rid of the guy?? It makes no sense. It's just baseball teams using monopoly money. I mean if you are going to give money away, just give some more to your scouts and advance scouts. Another testimonial to the incompetence of GM's everywhere. I had no idea the deal included a hotel suite on road trips. For Little Jimmy Shields?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) Jackson's been doing better recently, but we still need another bat who can preferably play CF well enough to keep Eaton in RF. Thompson on the team would have moved Cabrera to DH, and given us one of the best defensive outfields in baseball. Poor Greg. That bet on OKC isn't looking too hot about right now. Someone should teach him how to slide into third base.

Anybody have a decent read on Tatis, Jr? Is he ticketed to start playing this summer in one of the short season A leagues?

Now the rookie with mom and dad on camera ad nauseum will win the game for KC. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 28, 2016 -> 08:25 AM) After this season, I would not be surprised if we rank just ahead of the Angels in many publications' rankings. This organization is such a train wreck in the minor leagues and has been for a good while. Nothing has been done to substantively address the core issues. As an aside, I am flummoxed how Kenny Williams has a job. Ignoring the piss-poor performance of his major league teams, he has done a terrible job in minor leagues and it was during his tenure that the Wilder scandal occurred. This organization has no accountability. Every year the blame is put on the players, and we try to get new players. Instead, put the blame where it squarely deserves to be placed, on Rick Hahn, Kenny Williams, Buddy Bell, etc. Another aside (and pardon the fuming rambles), but I hate that I am a proponent for letting Hahn go. I think he is incredibly smart, and I think a lot of his struggles are due to KW being his boss. Hahn does not have the autonomy to be an actual GM, imo. He always has to answer to, and run things by, KW, who is the single biggest reason for the White Sox's failures over the past 15 years. But I think this organization needs to be rebuilt from the top to the bottom, and that means Hahn, too. I just hope by the time I have a child, there is something to be positive about with the White Sox that my child will become a fan. Correct.

Matt Cooper great in losing cause for Kanny, not much else.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 24, 2016 -> 07:32 AM) We might. We're talking about a former over-slot signing (got $1.5M as a 6th round pick) and Orioles top 10 prospect who was side-tracked due to off the field issues. I'm not ready to include in our five year plan, but there's clearly a ton of talent there and his left-handed bat stands out in a system devoid of offensive talent. I'd give him a few more weeks at AA as his BABIP is bound to regress some, but would move him up to Charlotte shortly thereafter. Why not?

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ May 22, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Jason Coats is continuing to mash. He's up to .317 with lots of walks and power. This is Coats' fourth year in pro ball, and he has hit at every level, obviously improving. I can't see how they can keep him in minors much longer.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 22, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) Zangari 2-4 w a HR. Hopefully he can make the adjustments he needs to. Speaking of making adjustments, Zavala seems to have done it.

If he hits, he'll be back.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Players vest in their pensions after 43 days on the active roster and just one day qualifies a player for lifetime healthcare. I thought it took 4 years to vest in the pension plan. Wrong?

Every move Robin made in the 7th and 8th cost us runs. This one is on him. -
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) CarGo, Reyes, and Gray for Danish, Guerrero, Lowry, and Engel. Sox take on dead/bad money and an underperformer in Gray who still has upside. Rockies get some pitching prospects that all have a MLB floor and could end up as rotation pieces and a high upside guy and AFL MVP in Engel. You might have hit on something. Rockettes would lovvve to get rid of Reyes after his suspension, which reportedly will be for 60 days. Not sure that they would have any interest in Engel. Cargo looks great so far this year. He is going to left field a lot, and it helps his average/OPS.
