  1. Now write up a thesis about how you were the first person to start the Yermin bandwagon and were actively posting here about how absolutely wrong websites like FutureSox, Pipeline, etc. were for not having him ranked highly.
  2. For what it's worth, that list isn't ranking value, it's a combo of value + likelihood to be dealt. From the Luis Robert (24th) blurb:
  3. Trade rumor. Meanwhile, this current game is a perfect encapsulation of Zach. Subpar for the entire game. Suddenly catches NBA Jam fire to tie it. But left too much time for Magic. They win. Patrick tries to dribble to the hoop with 1.4 seconds left and never shoots. This year's team mantra is "too little, too late."
  4. The AFL is done so it's basically winter for baseball. Diamond Club is closed, so feel free to post all MLB news in Pale Hose Talk.
  5. But consider that if Cease is traded, our Opening Day starter may be Touki, another Cleveland cast-off
  6. https://www.mlb.com/news/toughest-rule-5-draft-decisions-2023?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage From this list, Haskin, Ginn, and Jarvis all feel like "invite to training camp for a look" guys
  7. As much as I rib the Padres/Preller, Seidler was basically the anti-Jerry and thus necessary in sports.
  8. Doesn't compute, because as SSHM has outlined, the Sox basically only won when TA was throwing pasta parties.
  9. Greg out here buying wagyu cold cuts and handpicked heirloom pomegranates.
  10. Re: Thompson, I also want to see Bannister get a shot with him. For some reason I have an itching feeling that the Rays could swoop in and suddenly fix all his issues.
  11. I still think Carela gets added. He's got good stats as a young starter — some destitute, White Sox-esque team like the Royals or A's might figure they can make him a reliever for a year. I tried to find defensive grades on him last night and he wasn't in Pipeline's Top 30 for the Cubs or Fangraph's Top 52. Like, maybe if they jettison Sheets?
  12. They just reposted the Astros' Fansided deal Which is Urquidy, Jake Meyers, JP France and "multiple prospects." It's a strange proposal.
  13. Garcia, Patino, Scholtens and Banks all have some decent value for next year's team. I feel like Cronin can stay unless you absolutely need the room.
  14. Good enough for me. I now demand they make this trade.
  15. So, isn't the best scenario for the Bears that Fields comes back and balls out like he did against Denver and Washington? I only ask because it seems like Marvin Harrison Jr. is the guy with the actual generational label in this draft + drafting another offensive lineman feels like it creates a better situation.
  16. Nah man Mon - RemVP Tue - Daryl Boston for hanging on so long Wed - Touki Thu - Also Touki
  17. Anyway, from the Orioles, how unreasonable am I being here? Kjerstad, Bradfield (should have been the Sox pick once Teel was off the board), Povich and Juan Nunez for Cease and any random throw in like Jimmy Lambert.
  18. Reds got Noelvi Marte, Edwin Arroyo, Levi Stoudt, and Andrew Moore
  19. Horrifying thought exercise time: Getz keeps Cease till the deadline and try to package Moncada or Eloy with him.
  20. I'm trying to also think of it from the perspective of which teams might try to extend him vs. which would use him as a hired gun for 2 years. Dodgers, Mets and Red Sox would try to extend him. Padres might if they're still trying to contend and have all their money coming off the books. Reds are a toss up. Orioles, nah.
  21. Man, the GM meetings getting cancelled cause of norovirus sure has killed any fun to have until the winter meetings. Instead, we get to speculate how Jerry can hurt us next.
  22. And the desperation of the 2015-2016 teams led to them trading several minor leaguers that turned into long-term major leaguers, from depth to perennial all-stars.
