He's 19 and didn't get to do any type of Rookie Ball. Give him time.

The Knights wearing White Sox throwbacks is hysterical to me.
  7. Lots of talent, but lots of inexperience. That team is going to have growing pains.
  8. Looking at that play, Dozier was beginning to put his head up when it happened. Another fluke thing where we have to hope Jose is only rattled.
  9. OP apparently made this as a way to force the Tigers into a good quadrant following this chart.
  10. I love these reddit charts. The Sox always show up in the good quadrants. (This one is obviously not serious)
  11. Umpires are just getting worse and worse.

  13. We meme'd Danny Mendick into being, I vote we do it again with Romy-O and Co.
  14. Adam Eaton had more homers in April than Nomar Mazara had all of last year, so I don't really see how Mazara affects the HR total.
  15. His Twitter still says he is - maybe he's just floating around?
  16. The argument I saw for it is that they'll be able to market it - like, hey, we're a safe restaurant for you to take your mask off in because everyone here is vaccinated.
  17. I guess we start seeing a lot more businesses telling people to flash their vaccination cards.
  18. Big news. Get vaccinated, especially if you live in Ohio.
  19. We didn't sign Joc Pederson.
  20. Tyler Johnson needs to figure himself out right now.
  21. As someone who has surface level understanding, sure. Sox lead the majors in wOBA at .332. Here's what wOBA is. MLB's example: This means that the Sox are getting on-base the most effectively. Even if they aren't home runs, it's still very, very effective because it's so often. How do I know that? Because I can still pull in the traditional stats of average, where they rank first (.262) and on-base percentage, where they rank second (.345). They're second in wRC+ (at 117), which MLB defines as this: This means the Sox are 17% above league average at creating runs. Also, unlike Houston and the Dodgers, the other top two offensive teams, the Sox are Top 6 in BsR, which FanGraphs defines as this: So the Sox are elite at creating runs (when normalized for stadiums, leagues, etc.), elite at getting on base and despite not hitting homers, towards the top of the league in "quality" of getting on base, and great on the base paths. Does that satisfy you?
  22. Houston, Texas.
  23. This thread being resurrected is just laughably bad, especially while the Sox are surging.
  24. OF watch: Rutherford with a pair of hits and a walk, Sheets (at first tonight) with a single and two strikeouts in four at-bats. ReyLo with an incredibly ReyLo stat line: 5 IP, 2 ER, 8 Ks, but 4 hits and 3 walks. Gladney drew three walks, Beard drew one. So that's something encouraging. This from the Winston-Salem game:
