While Cespedes prevents you from losing a draft pick, I think I would rather have Upton. He's younger and has a much better career OBP than Cespedes. Of course I'd take either assuming the Sox don't break the bank. With LaRoche and Danks off the books offer a backloaded deal and the salaries could offset.

Turner will end up being the equivalent of Drabek next year. Although I think he has a much better chance to stick with the club out of the pen than Drabek did.

Trading Anderson might make sense if the Sox then turn around and trade Q to restock the farm. I'm not at all advocating for this, but it seems like a logical potential move.

Kind of surprised by this. I kind of liked the idea of a Flower/Avila platoon on paper. Others have beat me to it, but Lucroy is the catcher that instantly popped into my head as a potential trade target. I wonder if Milwaukee would be willing to trade him after the disaster of a season they had this year. Navarro is a slight offensive upgrade over Flowers, but he seems like a stopgap type of player for a position the Sox have zero depth at.

I can't believe the Sox actually made this announcement and think that Sox fans are going to be behind this move. Ventura is not the only reason this franchise is in disarray, but he's long overstayed and proven to us that time and time again he has no clue what the hell he's doing. Can't wait to here the Sox cry about no one coming to the park next year after the teams starts sluggish out of the gate for yet again after spring training and lacking heavily in the basic fundamentals of a major league ball club. Making Parent a scapegoat is embarrassing. Keeping Ventura is a slap in the face to the fans.
