  1. Me too. Goes from the contending Dodgers to this shitshow.
  2. I don’t believe this. There is zero benefit or logic to keeping someone employed if you know you are going to fire someone. And if that’s how Jerry chooses to operate then he’s an even worse, brain-dead sack of meat than I thought before.
  3. Does anyone get the impression that the FO made it a focus to bring in more pitching this go-around than when the rebuild first began? It feels like there’s more SP options than last time. Maybe that’s because the farm already had some guys in Schultz, Mena, Cannon, Burke, and Thompson?
  4. They played with 25 players on the roster again. Couldn't even get another guy up tonight.
  5. Lambert got called up today, so there’s that. Sosa better be getting the next shot. Kid needs to play everyday consistently from here on out to see what they have in him. I’d like to see Grandal DFA, and let Lee start. Give Perez the 3rd catcher spot for September.
  6. I believe any of the money saved with the trades essentially covers the raises to guys like TA, Eloy, Moncada, etc.
  7. I’ll give him a B. I still think he should be fired, but the value brought back was very good IMO. Would have been nice if he could have taken advantage of BAL in a Cease deal but the important pieces that needed to go, went and got back good value. Selling high on Burger was a good move.
  8. I don’t see how this kid will ever be more than a RP. The amount of time it would take to build him up, you’d be lucky to get 1 full season with him as a SP, and he can’t even remain healthy coming out of the bullpen.
  9. Severino seems like a good buy-low guy they could target. There’s no chance this team competes next year, so add a couple guys on 1 year deals with the expectation that you can flip them at the deadline as Eder and Nastrini force their way into the rotation in the 2nd half (assuming everything goes right).
  10. Absolutely love Burger, he’s a great person and was very fun to root for during one of the worst seasons I’ve endured as a fan. I’d urge everyone to look at 2021 Franmil Reyes and compare him to 2023 Jake Burger. One tool players can fade extremely fast. Sox ultimately made the right baseball move getting a potential future rotation anchor for him. This team is broken and needs better talent.
  11. Renteria was not good. He was "fine." They needed a better manager. The chose the worse possible route with LaRussa - a dinosaur - a guy who hadn't managed in 10 years. This isn't a Renteria or Larissa, there were other, better options and Jerry didn't even bother.
  12. Has it been brought up how they played down a man tonight? They literally said screw it and only called up 1 guy?
  13. Quero is a legit bat, but his defense and game calling need work per BA. Bush is a solid 4-5 starter potential.
  14. Exactly. Whoever put this list together clearly hasn’t done their due diligence.
  15. Totally agree. I’ve never really understood where the leader label came from, because he didn’t give off that vibe to me. I think this team has operated for years without a true leader.
  16. So have I, it’s clearly working, right? I took his comments as saying Eloy isn’t dedicated to going the extra mile to prevent these reoccurring injuries. If what you’re doing isn’t working, then try additional methods. Eloy doesn’t come off as being that guy.
  17. I didn't catch the postgame, does anyone know if there are any clips of this? How embarrassing is it you got called out by the greatest hitter in the organization and a HOF player?
  18. Nice to see Ramos with a HR.
  19. I think I’m leaning towards him being fired. This is like Hahn talk.
  20. I think the biggest issue with Vaughn is that he is a 1st round pick. Had he been, say a 3rd or 4th and put these numbers up there would be far less complaining. His expectations are obviously going to be high than what his current production level is (and rightfully so as a 1st rounder). I think people just need to realize that he most likely isn’t going to be anything special. The Benny hate is weird too. He’s been disappointing with the power and fielding but it’s really hard to point a finger at him as the reason this team sucks. I think it’s fair to say that his contract probably could have been allocated to other areas of the team, but I wouldn’t count him as a negative on this team. What other alternatives does this organization have? No one wants to see Eloy out there in LF, and the internal options of Hamilton, Fraizer, Reyes, Haseley aren’t going to out produce Benny.
  21. I’ll disagree, and double down. Why isn’t Ozzie employed by one of the other 29 other teams if he is such an amazing manager? Sox have the best kept secret in baseball hidden away in their pre and post game shows?
  22. A body to fill in once the big pieces get shipped out.
