QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2016 -> 04:58 PM) I don't hate any of these but I think I'd rank them like this off the top of my head. 1. Winter Soldier 2. Iron Man 3. Civil War 4. Thor 5. AntMan 6. GOTG 7. Age of Ultron 8. Avengers 9. Iron Man 3 10. Dark World 11. Hulk 12. Captain America 13. Iron Man 2 I think that we can all agree that Dark World is terrible. It looks like no one wants to be there, the performances are unenthusiastic, terrible villain, outside the Infinity Stone nothing important happened, and it did nothing for Thor's character.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 9, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) I felt the opposite way. Going in, I was 99% sure that towards the end Team Cap and Team Iron Man would get over their differences and come together to beat the Big Bad Guy. Basically, the same cliche that Batman Vs Superman opted for. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't do that. I think how BvS handled Batman and Superman teaming up and the Martha que was genius, but there's no DC allowed here. I would have preferred it if Civil War ended without Cap extending the olive branch to Tony. Him leaving that note for him, kinda ruined the weight of their fight a little bit.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 9, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Umm, the third act started with it becoming good guys vs bad guys, until Tony Stark saw the video and then it went right back to Iron Man vs Captain America. That power orgy completely deflated that angle for me and that fight did nothing (for me) to re-inflate that philosophical conflict between them. I think that Civil War would've worked better as a phase of films, rather than one movie, with each film showing how the Accords affect the characters. I think that you could've done that and still build to Infinity War quite well.

I would rank the Marvel films: 1. Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Civil War 3. First Avenger 4. Iron Man 5. Winter Soldier 6. Incredible Hulk (Most Underrated) 7. Ant Man 8. Thor 9. Age of Ultron 10. Iron Man 2 11. Avengers (Most Overrated) 12. Iron Man 3 13. The Dark World I've seen Civil War 4 times now and it suffers the same problems that ruined Winter Soldier. That movie would've been great if it stayed true to being a political thriller and fully embraced the moral grey area that the story and characters occupied. By the time the third act happens it becomes another good guys vs. bad guys movies. Civil War, which is very good, could've been the best Marvel movie of all time if it would've stayed true to the philosophical battle going on between Cap and Iron Man, instead of becoming an power orgy at the end with the airport scene. I like that it didn't turn into a cameo fest like the comic felt like at times but I'm pretty upset that it didn't capture the big moment, like the other movie did.

Twins/Molitor shower Sox with praise, especially D

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 9, 2016 -> 01:50 AM) You beat me off to it, I mean, beat me to it. Did Robin shower the Twins with some mutual, masturbatory praise of his own -
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 8, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) BA Has Ray falling to the Sox in their latest mock draft. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mock-draft-2-0/ Groome is getting some bad buzz leading up the draft. It's not crazy to think that he is there when the Sox pick.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 7, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) Why would it? He does not have the virus. I don't know but it could make teams scared of drafting him. I'm willing to be that the teams who are looking at him, have brought it up.

Does the Zika virus affect Delvin Perez's draft stock?

Ben Affleck is now an executive producer on Justice Leauge, in a move to support Zack Snyder. George Miller is another producer on the film. http://deadline.com/2016/05/ben-affleck-ju...rio-1201750654/ Chris Nolan is about to start shooting Dunkirk any day now but I would expect him to do the same.

I like that they didn't follow the exact storyline from the comic, I think the movie is a improvement on the book. Hopefiully this leads us to the Illuminati.

Wasn't Paul Rudd fantastic? Hopefully he pops up more and more, which shouldn't be a problem because he doesn't age.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 5, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) So who comes up? Are we about to get a starter from another team? Everyone that comes up is going to be nervous that they have to be perfect in order to stick, not a great thing to have. This is not really a serious question but; Should we just bring up Fulmer and let him face his bumps at the MLB level and learn? I'm guess Miguel Gonzalez comes up. And Carson Fulmer will not be called up till August/September at the earliest. Bringing him up now, could be bad not only for development but for his psyche.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 5, 2016 -> 06:08 PM) I'd give all teams equal spending money. Once you spend that, you can't sign anymore players or something equally heavy. That doesn't promote competitive balance. The teams with losing records should have more money to work with like in the draft. -
Collins at 10 would be a huge reach.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 2, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) JS, how can you sit here and talk about creative freedom and filmmaker friendliness within the DCEU when there have been two movies made, directed by the same guy, who just so happens to be part of the creative brain trust? And they have already had multiple filmmakers leave their films. It doesn't make sense Look at WB's non superhero films. They let directors come in with their vision and do whatever they want, with no interference and complete creative control. Look at the original films of Nolan, Affleck, Del Toro, Guy Ritchie, and Todd Phillips for example. Plus, WB is the only studio shelling out major cash for original films and giving their filmmakers final cut. You can't say that about Disney. JJ Abrams (who get's do whatever he wants at Paramount) said that the studio execs were involved at every step of the way on The Force Awakens. Look at Marvel. Joss Whedon walked away because he was tired of fighting with the studio on everything on AoU. Ava DuVernay, was in deep talks with Marvel for months about directing Black Panther and she pulled out because she didn't want to deal with the studio. Patty Jenkins was hired to direct Thor 2 and pulled out a couple months later. And there's Edgar Wright. DC has only had one filmmaker leave, Seth Grahame Smith didn't leave the Flash, he just isn't directing it (Fingers crossed for Guy Ritchie or Edgar Wright). I don't think that Zack Snyder directing the first 2 films in the DCEU means that it isn't filmmaker friendly. Remember John Favreau directed two of the first three films in the MCU and he was pretty involved, at least in name, in some of the other Phase 1 films.

Just saw Civil War, I did have some problems with it but I really enjoyed it. I need to think about it to see if I loved it. It's by far the best Avengers movie and one of the better films in the MCU. Really excited for the Spider-Man film but the star of the movie was Black Panther. And hopefully, Black Widow gets her own movie. My biggest problem was that I knew what to expect going in, a lot of the movie to me felt like the MCU on auto-pilot. That needs to change soon because the monotonous MCU style is starting to lose my interest. Hopefully, the new characters and franchises change that.

Don't panic, there were some players not linked to teams. And some of these guys could be going to different teams (which could be unlikely). This is something that I really want to be changed in the CBA: Once you exceed your bonus pool, you CAN'T sign a player to over 300k -
I am about to direct a short film that is based on a short story (flash fiction: a story under 1000 words) that I wrote, called Happy Anniversary (for now, I might change it to Let's Stay Together). The story is a play on suburban life and it is about a couple who decided that they are fed up with lives and make true on their wedding vows. It's pretty jarring and disturbing and the short film is going to be mix of David Lynch and David Fincher. Lots of stationary camera work and just overall weird. But I need a song that plays during the last scene, which is pretty jarring. Here is the story, so you can see what I am talking about. I trust everyone (well mostly everyone here) to not steal my work, but both my story and script are copyrighted. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY © BY: JOSHUA STRONG I completely forgotten what day it was but leave it to Melanie to always remind me. She just came back from the kid's’ room after putting them to sleep. Despite how things got between us she was always up for adventure and full of surprises. “Honey, can you pass me the remote.” Melanie opened up the locked cabinet, sat down on the couch and instead of our old, deprecit remote she put a cold pistol in my hand instead. When I finally looked at what she gave me and after my initial shock passed, I sat there on our couch wondering where all the time had gone. It wasn't too long ago that we were young and had the whole world in front of us. How could I forget that today was our anniversary. When I looked up, I saw that Melanie also had a gun but her’s was pressed firmly against her temple. She a had big childlike grin on her face, I’d never seen her smile like this before, it’s been years since I’ve seen her this happy. I knew what she wanted me to do and I didn’t hesitate, so I put my gun against my temple and looked right into Melanie’s eyes. With the exception of the babies crying in their cribs, it was like we were alone in the world. Like nothing else mattered but the two of us and tonight we were finally going to make true on our vows. “Happy anniversary, I love you.” “I love you too.” How could I forget what day it was. Imagine this playing out in your head, what song is the couple listening to? I am looking for a song that is older and preferably, something that is not a ballad. I want to contrast the heaviness of the scene with a song that's kinda upbeat. Some of the songs that I am considering are: Let's Stay Together, I Think We're Alone Now (The Original Version), Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen), and Downtown (Petula Clark). Any suggestions are welcome and I might do something cool in the credits for the people that helped. Thanks, Joshua

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:16 PM) He might be the best pure hitter in the Draft. I would love him, Senzel or Lewis. Teams are kicking themselves for not drafting Schwarber, Collins is in that same vein. I think you might be overrating him a bit.

Adding Jason Motte and Seth Smith to my list.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2016 -> 05:28 PM) He looks like an old man on dialysis and should look much bigger than Olivia Munn. "So then people were like, 'He's small.' I'm like, 'Okay, I got the same s*** when I cast a six-foot-three actor to play five-foot-four Wolverine. I got the same s*** when Quicksilver's very sweet, 1970s costume was released on an Empire Magazine cover.' You know, every time. I could have made him a giant through the whole movie, or some muscle-bound guy who can't act -- I could always do that. But the reality is, among his many powers -- and you will see him change size -- but among his many powers is his power of persuasion, and it was very important that he'd be able to connect with his horsemen, at their level (size), and that he'd be played by a guy who can actually act like Oscar, who's a fantastic actor.” - Bryan Singer You do see giant Apocalypse in the trailer. I appreciate the Egyptian and alien feel to the costume and I really appreciate that a person of color is playing an Egyptian.

Hoping for Andrew Cashner.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 3, 2016 -> 10:16 PM) Seems like a no brainer but I don't know much about these prospects as I don't follow the baseball draft as much as the NFL draft. We're also s month away so I'm starting to dive in deeper. I seen Delvin Perez mocked to us but that seems like a big stretch that he'd make it to 10. I want a hitter badly but I'd be ok with a pitcher as BPA because we can develop pitching. Collins sounds like Schwarber sort of (really good bat) but better at catching no? Strictly a 1B/DH

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 3, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) That look is f***ing terrible. Apocalypse should not look like Ivan Ooze If the picture was corrected in post, no would be saying that. http://m.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/x-men...alypse-backlash Apocalypse looks appropriate for that universe. And I love the alien feel to it.
