Mid-season Top 20
For my list, I did not include players who made it to the majors. Noah Scultz Braden Montgomery Hagen Smith Caleb Bonemer Colson Montgomery George Wolkow Jacob Gonzalez Jeral Perez Tanner McDougal Christian Oppor Luis Reyes Sam Antonacci William Bergola Mathias Lacombe Adrin Batista Yobal Rodriguez Alexander Albertus Blake Larson Mason Adams Juan Carell I think the Sox have a top 12 farm system. So many guys made it to the majors this year already, I think they will add more talent in the draft and at the TDL. Looking at this list, they need to add some power into the system. They also need to ad some more talent in the middle of the diamond

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
Something that gets left out when discussing Colson is the fact that he was drafted as a 19 year old HS grad. His development/minor league career is a perfect example of that demographic’s risk. A 19 year old can’t have too many setbacks because suddenly they’ll be 23, 24, 25 and still not on stable ground as a prospect

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
Meidroth being an above average shortstop makes him so much more valuable. If Boston knew that about him, I wonder if they include him in the trade for Crochet. If Colson comes up, I’ll let him start at SS but would play him at 3B, just to give him another position under his belt but the infield will probably look like 1B - Sosa 2B - Meidroth SS - Colson 3B - Vargas Its probably its strongest with 1B -Vargas 2B - Sosa SS - Meidroth 3B - Colson

I hope he hits the gym like Vargas did this offseason

Data, Development and the FUTURE of White Sox Pitching | The White Sox Podcast
Some people choose to be miserable. It applied to my ex girlfriend, it applies to Soxtalk. I don’t get it. People on here have been clamoring for the Sox to tear it down, and they are. People on here have been clamoring for them to build out their own analytic staff, and they are. People have been clamoring for them to hire people from outside the org, and they are. And you’re still unhappy. I don’t understand it.

2025 MLB Draft
Keith Law’s report on Gray: “Gray’s season is just getting underway in Iowa, so he has more opportunity to improve his stock than anyone else on this list. He’s a switch hitter who makes a ton of hard contact and shows plus power now, and he runs well for a catcher — which is good because he’s probably not a catcher. The bat looks like it will profile in right field, and he might end up in the top two rounds with a strong spring/summer.”

2025 MLB Draft
Keith Law really likes him but he said that he would immediately move him off of C because he wouldn’t want to waste the special bat. Law said he’s a good athlete too IIRC

Rubber Match, Sox vs Jays... 12:35ct.
The Paul George/SGA trade is one for the books.
- Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale

Pallette is fine. It seems like he’s having issues with the AAA ball

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale
To me Andrew Vaughn represents everything about that was wrong about the previous iteration of the White Sox. He was a 1B/DH taken with a top 3 pick (ahead of Riley Greene, CJ Abrams, and Corbin Carroll), bad strike zone judgement, lack of power, and no defensive value whatsoever. I read the reports about him not being a good teammate or a hard worker, maybe Lance Lynn rubbed off on him. Truly one of the worst players I’ve ever seen. I’m glad the Sox were able to get something of value for him, but I was a proponent of them non tendering him in the offseason and moving on but I’ll give the front office their flowers on the trade they made.

2025 MLB Draft
I’d rather them draft Ike Irish. I know LaViolette is good in CF but give me the sure bat, even if it’s a corner profile.

2025 MiLB Catch All thread
Carlos Gomez was one of the best players in the world for a short period of time. From 2011-2015, be put up 19 bWAR. He put up 12.3 bWAR in 2013 and 2014. He was unreal those two seasons.

Grant Taylor set to join White Sox in HOU
I’m excited for this but shocked they haven’t called up Pallette

2025 MiLB Catch All thread
I don’t think the Sox being so cautious with Hagen Smith is a bad thing. Getz/Bannister have shown to be very conservative when it comes to taking care of arms.

Didn’t he just start playing OF?

Mississippi State, educated guess

2025 MLB Draft
I’d rather have Parker. Give me the guy who’s the better hitter, and a year younger and we’ll figure out the rest.

6/3 GT Brieske vs Smith Tigers/Sox 6:40
I would’ve let Smith stay out there but I get why you’d take him out. For both game reasons and for protecting his arm
-
5/31 Games
He’s definitely a starter going forward.
-
5/27 Games
This is really encouraging because I want them to start loading up on prep bats in the draft
-
5/27 Games
Good. I wonder what his launch angle is like because he hits so many ground balls

What's the bullpen solution (knowing JR will never spend here)...?
They got to sign a veteran closer this winter, even if they end up trading him at the deadline. They have to sign someone who has ample experience closing out games. I think a problem with the pen is that the guys currently here are pitching in roles they have no business being in currently.
