  1. An encouraging thing about Robert is that most five tool players take a long time to develop, especially they’re hit tool. Robert already seems to be a plus player with the bat while being able to potentially play CF in the bigs. That’s a really high floor player.
  2. Dylan Cease, Zack Collins and... Luis Robert all get the call for the Sox. Moncada hits 24 homers. Anderson bats over .260 with 20+ HRs and 30+ SBs. Reynaldo Lopez gets 15 wins and gets signed to an extension mid season. Eloy hits 30+ HR and gets 85+ RBI. The Sox are buyers at the deadline. Lucas Giolito has a sub 5 ERA (bold prediction)
  3. Adley or Abrams. The Sox really need some more talent up the middle, the farm really could use an injection of youth and more athletic types. Abrams is a left handed Royce Lewis, I wonder if there are any teams who like him better in CF as opposed to SS, his natural and preferred position.
  4. I really wish that the White Sox would change their stance on the opener because I think Covey would be great in that role. As a SP he has a BAA of .212, a BABIP of .242 and he has a LOB of 79.2% the first time through the order. The second time through the order his BAA is .301, he sports a BABIP of .346 and a 53.5% LOB. And the third time through the order he sports a BAA of .297, a BABIP of .338 and a LOB of 47.5%. Let him go 2 or 3 innings an appearance at max effort and the Sox might have a good weapon on their hands.
  5. Signing Dallas Kuechel would be a terrible move for the Sox. He’s already 30+ and wants a 4+ year deal. I know that he had the highest groundball rate (53.7) and the lowest flyball rate (24.4), two things that would play great in GRF but giving pitcher at his age, the kind of deal he’s looking for wouldn’t make a lot of sense. Also the Sox would have to lose their second rounder IIRC if they sign him.
  6. Is anyone worried about Eloy’s conditioning?
  7. I don’t think the catcher of the future is in the organization currently
  8. Gerrit Cole is my number one hope for next winter. Could you imagine a staff of Cole, Rodon, Kopech, Lopez and Cease. I think Cole is a number one starter, that you can count on for about 7 innings every time he gets the call. He’s a strike guy, which always plays and he can share the secrets of the Astros pitching development machine.
  9. With that mind set, just stop drafting guys.
  10. Since the Sox started this rebuild they have acquired some guys with star potential: Moncada, Jimenez, Kopech, Cease and Robert... but the farm is thin on guys with high ceilings. Lots of guys in the farm project to be relivers or utility players. Always take the best player on the board but the Sox amateur scouting staff has to start prioritizing high school players in the draft more. I understood prioritizing college players in terms of building an organizational foundation but when you solely target college guys at the top of the draft, you run the risk of having an older farm. Dane Dunning could very be 25+ by the time he reaches the majors. High school players are younger obviously and spend more time in your system learning your way of doing things. This was a rant

Not tax return related but I’m building a website and recently bought a LLC. After talking to some other filmmakers/artist and listening to some podcast, I realized that I can declare myself as self employed. I started using Quickbooks and it’s been incredible. If you’re self employed, I recommend it.
  12. Anyone else see that the Padres are circling Moustakas?
  13. Shut the fuck up Nietzsche, we’re in Carcosa now.
  14. Top five Queen song
  15. I’m in total agreement with you in regards to the offense being more consistent with the arrival of Eloy and guys like Moncada and Anderson taking the next steps in their development. They also turned the bullpen into a major strength that shorten games for the young staff but I think they also improved the defense of the team with Alonso and Jay. If the team stays as it is, I’m thinking 75-77 wins which would be huge. If they land a Harper or Machado, I think they can play meaning games late in the regular season at the least .500 ball.
  16. Growing up black in a family that loves baseball, my grandfathers and my uncles would always tell me stories about Frank Robinson and how big a deal he was as a player and a manager. I called my grandfather today and told him and he couldnt believe it.
  17. Call me crazy but is Markkanen the only true untouchable on the Bulls?
  18. They should do whatever is best for them, their families and their wallets.
  19. I think so as well but as a swingman/opener/multi-inning reliever.
  20. I heard from a source that Manny Machado kidnapped Will and Julie Purcell.
  21. I think that the Sox employed a good strategy when they started the rebuild. They had a largely empty farm and targeted high floor guys in the draft as they replenished the system. Now that they have that depth, I think they should definitely start targeting more high ceiling guys in the draft. I understand that those guys carry way more risk but when you hit on a guy, they could be a superstar.
  22. This might be a good thing as Lazano now has a team to use as leverage against the Sox in the final stages of negotiations. A deal will get done soon in the next two weeks, that’s my prediction.
  23. Its not up to the Sox.
