  1. Are we thinking Delmonico or Davidson has more of a shot to actually play 3rd at the majors? Delmonico seems to be having a really nice season and he's still a little young for his level.
  2. Samardzija is such a f***ing bum. What a letdown he's been.
  3. That'd be great if Adam was turning it around now
  4. This team has no chance of ever being a playoff team while Danks is getting regular starts

Anderson's OPS has quietly crept up to .785 over the last few weeks. Very encouraging to see that being that it has stayed between .730-.750 most of the season.
  6. Shuck in RF again? Wtf?
  7. At this point, I cannot root for this team to win any more this season. I enjoy watching the Sox win, but this is all about having a protected pick at this point.
  8. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Aug 19, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) How is he definitely a Hahn guy? He is just another internal promotion, like re-arranging chairs on the Titanic. Their philosophies align pretty well. He was definitely a Hahn promotion.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 19, 2015 -> 09:45 AM) JR will probably decide that RH still needs a babysitter. Based on this season, hard not to see otherwise. Being that KW thought the Sox should buy at the deadline while Hahn wanted to sell, I would say that Kenny is the one that needs to be babysat.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Nick Banks is my guy. Last year Fulmer was and we got him. 2 years ago, I was really torn between Rodon and Aiken. Hopefully Banks falls. Ray, Okey, and Banks are my hopefuls at this point
  11. Good article with some names to start getting acquanted with: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/college-tea...-3/#more-195093

From Dave Cameron's Fangraphs chat today: If Puig does e moved this winter what type of package would he get? And what are some likely landing spots? Dave Cameron: My guess is that the Dodgers will use him to land a different MLB player (or players) they like. I don’t see him getting moved for prospects, but I could see them trying to use him to go get another young cost-controlled SP. Maybe they offer him to the White Sox for Quintana and something? Cameron is a pretty well connected guy. This may just be throwing s*** at the wall to see if it sticks, but there seems to be a little smoke here in regards to a Puig for Quintana swap.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) Well he is already the #20 best prospect in our system according to FutureSox's rankings, so a strong preformance in Kanny next year would probably elevate him to top 10 status. I would consider that "legit" I meant more along the lines of a top 100 guy.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 11:46 AM) He's likely a 4th OF, and a pretty good one. But in this lost season, I think you play him every day or nearly so. Exactly. Why not see what he is exactly? You already know what you have in the other 3 OFers, let the kid get some real, meaningful playing time. If he is ultimately a 4th OFer, atleast we can get that figured out now instead of next year.

Zangari probably cant be considered a legit prospect until he replicates this performance in Kanny and WS, right?
  16. Unfortunately, this will somehow be used to validate keeping him next season.
  17. I think putting Trayce in RF permanently will positively effect Eaton's defensive metrics

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 07:50 AM) We are a 1-15 or a 2-20 away from 7 or 8 posts telling us he can be fine as a 4th OF, but that is what he is. That he isn't a starting OF on a White Sox playoff team. He's been great so far, but he will slow down and as just about every rookie does, struggle. Im not expecting him to hit .500 for the rest of the season, but the value is plainly there. He looks like he's squaring a lot of stuff up nicely so far and he never makes any defensive play look like a circus.

In 16 ABs, Trayce has already been worth 0.5 WAR. His defense, along with the potential of his bat, should make him an every day start from here on out. Give some of the other OFs rest and rotate him at DH.
  20. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 01:13 PM) I was just saying in another thread that his defense and base running alone was enough to keep him at 3rd since his hitting didn't negate any of that. I didn't know about the DRS stat but I did sight his .9 WAR which is damn good for the amount he has played. I think the Sox need to have a Salad Dino wherever in the ballpark they serve salads. If he's of Italian heritage maybe some kind of anti-pasta with a nice garlic and red wine vinaigrette. Where are you seeing his WAR is 0.9? 0.4 according to Fangraphs
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) Saladino is already 5th in DRS among all 3B this year, which is very impressive when you consider it's a counting stat and he's only played 30 games. The 4 guys ahead of him have all played at least 96 games there. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/...-fielding.shtml Which is definitely why I would be fine with him staying there, but you need to infuse offense elsewhere
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 11:19 AM) Move him to short and find a better 3B. Save money by not bring Alexei in. I'd also be very alright with this move.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...he-arizona-sox/ Recap posted. Zangari lighting up the Arizona League at 18...very impressive. While I've been incredibly excited about following Zangari thus far, I can't help but find a lot of this last draft classes start pretty encouraging. Fulmer is throwing great, then some of these lower level arms like Erwin, Stephens, and Cherry are dealing too. Could turn out to be a nice draft when everyone was worried about what the Sox were going to do without a 2nd or 3rd RD pick.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) Cool... https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/632700334926725120 If we could find some bats at 2B, SS, C, or RF, I could totally live with Saladino at 3B

Make that 2 Zangari HRs last night
