If JR isn't around in 2020 he won't have it.
-
I don't doubt it. Wonder if JR or Getz will be calling the "crack" medical team asking if they give a group discount? (Gotta save money you know...😆)

That's the White Sox way! Can't say anyone should be surprised by this news, you could see it coming from a mile away.

The Tribune put out their 125th Sox anniversary story. Well written with a bunch of historical photos: https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/03/23/chicago-white-sox-125-years-history/

He did. He was playing first base and a wild throw caused him to have to go up the line into the basepath of a runner and they collided.

Who are you most excited to watch this year?
Lip Man 1 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is an interesting perspective. A mediocre team buried near of the bottom of the East with practically zero chance to do anything moving forward against the top clubs. Oh and because they are owned by the Reinsdorf's hell will freeze over before the go into the luxury tax area as well as somehow be able to attract real superstars which is what you need to win in the league today. -
Thank the people in charge of acquiring talent by any and all means.

I'm most excited to watch the end of the season to be able to read the excuses coming from the front office. -
“We were doing a drill, and he just collided with a runner as a first baseman. Just a throw that took him up the line and a tough break,” Venable said.

Live long enough to see new ownership and it will get better.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Lip Man 1 replied to Fielder Jones's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's the point though he still wants to retain absolute control. -
Or they could go to an opener and turn it over to a bullpen (and see if they can blow leads numerous times after the seventh inning...)
-
That number will be going up...and up...and up.

Not saying a team should 'force" anyone to have surgery but to also say the team has no say in these matters is also insane in my opinion. They are paying these guys, that gives them some rights too. Again this is all much ado about nothing, all of these guys can get hurt or all of these guys can make miraculous comebacks. This organization is still going to lose 100+ games either way. Just another year hoping to last long enough to see new ownership. But as myself and others have pointed out where this is yet another example of the organization coming across like they have no idea what the hell is going on, misinformation, conflicting comments, real ambiguity.

Don't see how it could be Clevinger, Caulfield, he's not stretched out enough.
-
I think an employer who is paying a good salary should have some say since it impacts the team and organization. I don't see why that should be considered outlandish. Medicine is not an exact science to be sure however as has been discussed for the past several years the way the Sox are handling things, something is amiss. Not just by fans but by the media and others. Especially when they trot out G.M.'s who give misleading information (granted it may be unintentional but the damage done is just as much). Maybe consulting a witch doctor or throwing darts at a board to figure out what is wrong could give better results (LOL) 😆

https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2025/03/20/drew-thorpe-suffers-another-setback-in-return-from-elbow-injury Six White Sox pitchers (and counting...) with injury issues. Not that it matters anything for this season which is already flushed down the toilet but moving forward it could come into play.
-
I'm sorry I don't agree.
-
Is it totally? Serious question...doesn't the team which is paying them have any say?
-
The list of issues and questions about the competency of those areas just gets longer it seems by the week doesn't it? Hopefully when new ownership comes in they fire every individual connected with the baseball side of the operation. That's the only way to clean out the stink and ineptness in my opinion.
-
Exactly. Stop screwing around with these guys 'hoping" rest and rehab will solve the issue. History shows at least with the Sox (hello Rodon, Dunning, Martin et al) that doesn't seem to be working out.
-
All I'll say is given the Sox history with pitchers over the past few years this seemed inevitable as Thanos would say. As someone pointed out the Sox first reported he would be ready to go for spring training, then it would be later in the spring to now this. Typical White Sox. It would be better I think if they just didn't say anything or if they felt they had to with injuries let the doctors actually speak to the press not the field manager or the general manager or the clubhouse attendant 😆 or anybody else who really don't know s%*#. Just have the TJS or whatever surgery is needed right now, stop dicking around and we'll see you next year (maybe...)
