  1. If McDougal throws strikes with this stuff, huge win for the Sox. He’s a top 100 guy if he keeps throwing like this. The national folks will need to see some consistency, but the stuff is there.
  2. Gray must have had an opt out? He’s been solid this season, but… Huh?
  3. Who to release first? Rojas or Noda? I would do Noda just cuz, but I would love to see the back of both.
  4. Yeah, Sox don’t have near-ready OF talent. It’s Braden and Zavala who are both okay to good at A+, but you’re not gonna shoot them up to the majors. Everyone at Birmingham is struggling non-prospect to org guys. Veras is the disappointment there. If Ramos were hitting, you could see trying him out there, but he’s not so you won’t. Good thing I kept my Joshua Palacios jersey.

  6. I have been searching for comps too. Those guys were each earning a lot more money than Houser is now, so maybe Houser is more valuable? Track record says no. Liranzo is interesting because Detroit probably had a top 100 grade on him at the time of the trade. I imagine they will get someone decent but not overwhelming.
  7. Sox headed towards losing every MiLB game tonight. Not a good night.
  8. Dash was 2-14 w/RISP 13 left on base then gave up 7 in the bottom of the 8th. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
  9. These lists look pretty good to me. I tend to think like @Boopa1219 and leave off guys currently in the majors, so punting on where the hell you'd put Colson, my top 20 would look something like this: *Noah Schultz, lhp (AAA) Caleb Bonemer, ss (A) *Hagen Smith, lhp (AA) #Braden Montgomery, of (A+) Tanner McDougal, rhp (AA)& Javier Mogollon, 2b(A) *George Wolkow, of (A) *Sam Antonacci, inf (A+) Jeral Perez, 2b/ss (A+) *Christian Oppor, lhp (A+) Luis Reyes, rhp (A) *Samuel Zavala, of (A+)& *Jacob Gonzalez, ss-2b (AA) Bryan Ramos, 3b (AAA)@ *William Bergolla, 2b-ss (AA) Mason Adams, rhp (IL)& Mathias LaCombe, rhp (ACL) *Ronny Hernandez, c (A) *Ky Bush, lhp (IL - 60) Wikelman Gonzalez, rhp (AAA)@% @ indicates of 40 man. & indicates needs to be added to 40 man for Rule 5. % indicates reliever. I tend to penalize injured guys and relievers quite a bit. Love Batista, but I have him just out of the top 20. I could see flipping him and Wikelman. I am probably high man on Antonacci, but if anything, I'm afraid he is too low. I really really like that guy. I would place whoever they draft at 1-10 #5.
  10. I would dump Noda and have Vargas and Sosa cover first base. Vinnie Capra can grab some starts at short against tough righties. Noda is useless.
  11. I am really tired of watching Noda. I hope he is the DFA for Colson.
  12. Not sure Vinnie Capra should count as a major league strikeout.
  13. There’s room for everyone, since a lot of people jumped off at the last stop.
  14. Personally, I think he has taken so few steps forward, who knows whose fault that is, that he was no longer a top 30 guy. As a reliever who can’t throw strikes, he was trending towards Org/NP level for me.
  15. Sox were already at 39. Anyone know why they’re clearing space?
  16. Good for him. He needed a change of scenery
  17. What would you consider 1.50 on the dollar? All prospects can fail, so wouldn't you have to get at least two viable guys? A bird in the hand and all that.
  18. He's prone to getting hit because he expands the zone down and in. Everyone tries to keep him from extending his arms and he goes fishing on a ton of breaking balls waaay out of the zone. He'll get hit less if he stops swinging at those cuz they'll have to change their approach to him. Also, James has alluded to the fact that the balls in Charlotte may be dusty, so getting him outta there would probably help.
  19. I mean, no one's untouchable. Sure if they want to give up a real hitter like Emerson, Montes, or Celesten... Sure I guess. Otherwise? Why are we churning through guys with 5 years of control? You start doing that this rebuild is going to get it's own 125 year patch.
  20. If Colson comes up soon, I would dump Noda, who does not look good. Capra gives you a righty to keep Colson from facing the Chris Sales and Garrett Crochets of the world. Rojas gives you steady D and veteran leadership. Now, if you wanna keep both Colson and Baldwin when Robert comes back, I can see either Capra or Rojas going. But that may be very short term. Maybe they’ll wait until after the deadline to do anything interesting.
  21. Love the mock. Lotta great info. Would love Carlson + Gamble. On small typo: you write that Marek Houston struggled in SEC play. Pretty sure you meant ACC play. Keep up the great work!
  22. Latest BA mock is the nightmare scenario in which all the college pitching slides. Willits, Carlson, and Parker all go top 8, leaving the Sox with Jamie Arnold. In that scenario, I honestly think they take Steele Hall, but who knows? Sox gotta get hitters.
  23. Another Colson HR.
