And this plan heavily revolves around the unknown and projections. The Bears currently have a Top 10 Drafted QB that not only improved in 2022 over his 2021 stats, doing it with much less talent around him, but they currently hold the No. 2 overall pick and have more money to spend in FA than anyone else in the league. I don’t get Crochet for Gleybar for the Yankees. The odds of Crochet turning into a starter seem slim, so if you can acquire a 4 WAR 2nd still in his arb years, seems like an easy call.

Your entire is argument is based around the fact drafting your franchise QB when the rest of your team isn't ready to compete is a flawed strategy. You claimed the Bengals "built out much of their roster before they drafted Burrow" Joe Burrow was drafted in 2020, and in 2019 the Bengals went 2-14. So who are these players that the Bengals had on their roster BEFORE Burrow got there that helped lead them to a Super Bowl?

It's hilarious that on the same day, the Cubs are airing the press conference for TUCKER BARNHART on Marquee but the Andrew Benintendi press conference isn't for the public.

It's that attitude that has partly gotten the Sox to where they are at today. "Welp, this is the way it's going to be, I'm still going to buy tickets and watch every day because I love the White Sox, hopefully it's different in 2032." Sorry, that's not good enough for me when teams in the same league the White Sox play in operate in a totally different fashion. I have higher expectations for the teams I root for than that. Expecting to add some real depth behind Grandal, who literally was one of the worst MLB players last year, something more than Selby Zavala, isn't unrealistic. Adding someone better than Mike Clevinger isn't unrealistic. Adding a veteran 2B that has some track record isn't unrealistic. And this is always where the argument starts. It's not that anyone expected the Sox to make all those moves...because we know the sorry history of this team. It doesn't mean we all have to lower our standards and just bend over to what the Sox give us. f*** that. They deserve to be called out after going out of their way to tank in 2017-2018-2019, then in their "World Series Window" not act like an actual contender....they should continue to be held accountable.

I expect the Bears to be in the playoff hunt next season. Might not make it, but I expect them to be in the hunt all season. The year after, I would fully expect them to be the favorites in the division. If they aren't, they messed up. Fields might not be the reason why, it may be bad roster management by Poles, injuries, or a host of reasons, but it doesn't matter. If they aren't on that path, then they failed. (Should also be noted the "approach" the Bears have taken wasn't all executed by the current management team. Poles didn't trade that capital or draft Fields. But given the incredibly poor cap management by Pace, a "reset" to clear out dead money and players was absolutely the right decision.)

Because like almost everything in life, there are exceptions to the rules, and in this case, two all-time QB's we're pretty good once they entered the league (Without mentioning Rodgers was drafted in 2005 but didn't start until 2008) The discussion was around Justin Fields and the need for him to get better at the passing game. The stats provide illustrate a collection of notable QB's that had double the amount of pass attempts in college than Fields, which amplifies the idea that the 23 year old Fields may actually still be developing in the passing game, and it's not time to draft a QB with the 2nd overall pick in this years draft.
