  1. At the beginning of the season I didn't think the team could lose more games than last season. I'm starting to think it could happen.
  2. I realize its not going to happen but wouldn't it be something to see JR hold a press conference and take questions from the media?
  3. For years fans were always led to believe that JR liked baseball more than basketball. I don't believe it. A few months ago JR announced that he was spending millions of dollars on the area around The United Center. If he likes baseball so much was it too much for him to spend some money for some hitters on the White Sox this past off season? I've lived thru some bad years. The 1968-1970 teams were bad. And 4 of the 5 teams Veeck owned his 2nd ownership were bad also. This is a new low. The team can't hit. The middle of the order Robert Jr, Vaughn and Vargas don't look like they can hit me. If you traded these 3 guys in a package you wouldn't get a decent player in return. You would think if an owner really cared about baseball he would be ashamed with this present team. I've touched on this before that this situation is okay with JR having the low payroll. Low payroll= big profits for the owners. How much money does he need?
  4. If JR had spent some money this past off season on 2 hitters the record would be alot better. Obviously he is content with this losing team AND LOW PAYROLL.
  5. This team is so bad I'm beginning to think the crowds will even be small during the warmer months. The team simply isn't any good and most of all can't hit. I noticed that the White Sox have 10 bobblehead giveaways this year. Not one bobblehead is of any present player. Every bobblehead is of somebody from the past.
  6. When JR bought the team he signed free agents Fisk and Luzinski which made the fan base happy. I would think new owmers would go the same route and sign some free agents.
  7. With all the justified criticism of Vaughn, I can't help but wonder how much longer the team is going to go with Vargas? He simply can't hit. I don't know who would replace him but some kind of change at 3rd base has to happen.
  8. Terrible trade. Simply a salary dump.
  9. A forgotten part of White Sox history is how JR rejected the original design of the present stadium. He wanted and got the 2nd level of suites which help make the upper deck what it is. All he had to do is keep the original design and add more rows on the lower level like PNC in Pittsburgh. They're given away those upper deck seats and nobody wants to sit up there. I've always thought that JRs biggest mistake of his ownership was how this present stadium turned out.
  10. A few years ago I went up to the upper deck and just out of curiousity I went to the highest seat in the upper deck, Section 558, Row 21, Seat12. I was scared. Its awful up there. I have nothing bad to say about the lower deck and nothing good to say about the upper deck.
  11. The Rate is 2 different parks. The lower deck is great. The upper deck is a nightmare.
  12. White Sox organization must not think highly of Elko. He's hitting in the minors this year and Vaughn looks like a complete bust. Maybe they're too stubborn to admit they made a mistake with Vaughn.
  13. If this listless team keeps losing games I wouldn't be surprised if the manager gets fired before Getz gets fired. I would think if this losing keeps up the team might have a new manager by the All Star break.
  14. I don't think the league will save us. I just wish that JR would leave the scene. Preferably selling the team.
  15. I wish MLB would step in. I don't think anything like this has ever happened before in MLB. Years ago the St. Louis Browns and Connie Macks A's were financially poor franchises and usually sold off or traded their players because of lack of money. JR is not poor. He is a multi billionaire. This doesn't say much about his character. You would think any wealthy owner would be ashamed of this team. Obviously he's not. This whole situation tells me he is content with this losing team AND LOW PAYROLL. This is going to be a very profitable year for JR and his investors. How much money does he need? Most people couldn't spend what he has. Yet he seems to want more and more money.
  16. For years we've all been told how much JR loves baseball. Supposedly he is happier with the White Sox WS Championship than he is with the Bulls championships. He supposedly watches every White Sox game. We're told he lives and dies with every game. If all this is true imagine what it would be like if he didn't care about baseball. This team is digging itself into another hole with no end in sight .If they would have added a couple of hitters and one good reliever this past off season this team would be 6-4 instead of 2-8. Obviously JR is content with this losing team and very low payroll.
  17. I would like to think that some changes are coming. The only thing I can think of is to promote Quero, Teel and Meidroth.
  18. Wouldn't you like to see JR hold a press conference today where he takes questions from the media? He won't do it because it would be a PR disaster on his part.
  19. I realize people buy teams to make money but still this is a very bad situation. With the low 2025 White Sox payroll JR is going to make some big money this year. How much money does he need? He's already a billionaire. He obviously doesn't care if the team keeps losing games. This team can't hit. He should have corrected this problem this past off season. Any owner worth his type of money who doesn't care about improving the team should sell the team.
  20. I'm hoping the new owner takes over sooner rather than later. Its obvious that JR has no interest in improving this team. I would think if he did he would have improved this offense during the off season. Any good owner would be ashamed as to how this team has turned out. It evidently hasn't bothered JR.
  21. If Robert Jr and Vaughn continue to tank this is going to be a long year. I think its fair to say if they do not produce they couldn't even be traded for anybody decent. That being said, it will be curious to see how this plays out.
  22. How long does Teel have to be in the minors?
  23. The only thing worse than losing baseball games is losing baseball games with no hitting. I thought if Robert Jr, Vargas, Vaughn and Benintendi would hit this team would be better. Only Benintendi is hitting. I also thought that Quero, Teel and Meidroth would be on the team to provide some hope for the future. None of the 3 are on the team. The thing that gets me about this whole situation is that ownership seems content with all of this.
  24. If they bring up Quero, Teel and Meidroth sooner rather than later and they produce this team could be playing meaningful games in September. The miracle on 35th Street could happen!
  25. The team could have been 3-0 with some offense. Lets hope they add some hitting sooner rather than later.
