2024 MLB Draft Lottery (12/5)
Likewise, put me firmly in the camp of rooting for the 7th (or later) pick for round 1

Lance Lynn to StL on 1 year deal
- Reynaldo López signs 3 yr deal with ATL
I want the Gio/Lopez combo to continue, so ATL please sign Gio to keep the dream alive.- Non-Tender 11/17
Who was advocating for those four to be non-tendered? My gripe was in regards to more than a handful of pre-arb guys, which yeah they didn't need to do now, but my counterpoint is that they stink so why keep them?- Non-Tender 11/17
I'd argue there's reason to non-tender them if they're bad. They don't need to have the roster spot. I get why they didn't because they didn't technically have to do it now, it just annoyed me more that it probably should've.- Non-Tender 11/17
So your team lost 101 games last season, not by design, and you tender every unsigned player on the 40-man a contract? I don't get that at all. I know people can be DFA'd and traded later, but I'm just confused as to why they ALL got tendered.- Non-Tender 11/17

Riley Gowens is also from Libertyville and went to U of I- Benetti to Tigers
I'm with you, I took it as Brooks being a dick instead of malicious.- Benetti to Tigers
When I first read it I just took it as BB being a dick, not the disability angle.- Benetti to Tigers
- 2024 - MLB Draft Thread
I'm hoping after this miserable season that the baseball gods will show mercy on us and have the lottery balls land the Sox outside of the top 6. However, I know that won't happen and they'll slide down to sixth, finish with the third worst record next season or some s%*# like that and mathematically "win" the 2025 lottery but don't because they can't pick higher than 10th.- 40 man and rule 5 deadline on Tuesday
Seems like a part of it (how much I don't actually know) is $ motivated.- 40 man and rule 5 deadline on Tuesday
They've spent more on worse before, I'd be down for the cheap gamble there- 40 man and rule 5 deadline on Tuesday
They can always cut bait on the fat of the 40-man when needed. It doesn’t seem very likely that anyone else is at risk of being selected and kept on a major league roster all year long, at least that's how they're viewing it, and I'd have to tend to agree with that assessment. They aren't burning option years unnecessarily either, which isn't nothing.- Sox winter fest?...
I'd bet the Sox are hosting their Winter Fest on the 9th green at 9 to really stick it to the last handfuls of fans.- 40 man and rule 5 deadline on Tuesday
- The latest Garfien Podcast: What is a "Spa Day"?
I believe spa day is short for spaghetti day, I see no issue here.- Fire Pedro Grifol
It's all in the first post here.- Non-Tender 11/17
Sure that would obviously be a bad outcome in what would further the darkest timeline of White Sox fandom. I just don't believe a team would select and keep a fringey LF/DH on a ML roster all year long. If they add him to the 40 that's great, I like Veras and given the circumstances of the roster there should be enough space, I just don't think he'd be selected.- Non-Tender 11/17
I'd add Eder and Mena and call it a day. I like Veras but don't think another team would select him in the ML portion. There's enough fat on the 40-man that adding him is fine, I just think the likelihood of a selection is low.- 2024 - MLB Draft Thread
- Fire Pedro Grifol
Going to need to keep this on the first page all offseason long. I wonder if we can get this to more pages than the fire Rick thread.- Benetti to Tigers
Sox going to bring in the Royals announcers to go full KC?- Benetti to Tigers
Maybe Hawk was onto something about Brooks - Reynaldo López signs 3 yr deal with ATL
