  1. CC Sabathia ? LMFAO.
  2. I would not be surprised to see Yermin get thrown at again and a bench-clearing fight that might get players injured or suspended. That could have been avoided with some common sense.
  3. LaRussa isn't going anywhere. Deal with it.
  4. Yea, like sportsmanship and personal responsibility.
  5. Yes LsRussa standing on the principle of sportsmanship is a reason to "hate" him.
  6. LaRussa is doing a great job and isn't going anywhere.
  7. Projection? Tantrums? LOL. Read some of the hundreds of posts on this tread.
  8. LOL. How fuking ridiculous some of these arguments have gotten. Sure pinch hit four times and send in starters and relievers to pitch in a blow out. OK.. The arguments that LaRussa is out of touch with the younger generation is part of the pussification of America. Take responsibility instead of waiting for a parent, employer or manager to clean up your sh1t. Yermin could have taken a couple of pitches at 3-0. Instead he loaded up to hit a tape measure home run. None of the Sox , the Manager, the hitting coach or any player asked Yermin to do that. He decided to spike the ball in the end zone. Mercedes put a target on his own head and ultimately that might involve a scrum between the two teams next time they play.
  9. How juvenile .... and foolish.
  10. It is done all the time in other professional sports and you know it. In the NFL, quarterbacks take a knee , several times if necessary to run out the clock instead of running up the score. In the NBA BOTH teams put in scrubs to finish out the game, and then dribble out the last seconds instead of sending LeBron out to dunk one in yo face. Yermin did what he did and should have taken matters into his own hands when they threw at him. He decided to swing for the fences on a 3-0 pitch from a position player while up 11 runs in the 9th. Ridiculous. Some youngsters like to create problems and have daddy clean it up later. Maybe Yermin should charge the mound next time. Don't wait for Tony to explain what you did and why after the game and then characterize Baldelli's response. Tony has been doing one helluva job with this team. If we win the Division with an outfield filled in with Minor league talent (and Rookie Vaughn hitting .225 with 2 HR) , he will be up for Manager of the Year.
  11. No you are 100% right. I love Yermin, but the situation was exactly how you describe it, and it ain't over yet.
  12. Sportsmanship is not asinine. This isn't going to get resolved on the internet by Sox fans who criticize LaRussa for principles like sportsmanship, not running up the score for no reason. This is between the Twins and Mercedes and that will ultimately be how this gets resolved. Next time Mercedes night get a brush back pitch behind his heels. At least Robin Ventura had the balls to charge Nolan Ryan. Unfortunately he got the worst of it. Not sure who was managing the Sox that day..
  13. Yermin suspected he would be thrown at. That was anticipated by the sports media in both towns. He sheepishly stood there and walked to first. Dude should have charged the mound and settled this thing himself since he created the situation. Settle it on the field instead of blaming LaRussa like a pussy. I sense this thing isn't over until the teams have one of those rhubarbs. Hopefully no one will get hurt but if they are, maybe that 16th run will end up looking a lot less important.
  14. If the Bears move to Arlington, there will be some Southsiders who may very well want to see a return of Chicago's Southside NFL franchise f/k/a, the Chicago Cardinals. The Reinsdorfs could pull that off.
  15. I loved that. Thank you.
  16. "objective opinion" is oxymoronic. Just part of the LaRussa derangement syndrome that has consumed some fans like politics has. Accept that Tony is the White Sox Manager and that Biden is President. It is what it is, like it or not.
  17. Yawn
  18. Gio was masterful and his change-up was just awesome. Jake Lamb's double and that bunt call by TLaR were huge. Leury was great and I love the defensive play by Vaughn for the double play. All good, except for some fans trying to start sh1t.
  19. Well played and managed ball game.
  20. Players should heed their Manager's direction. The take sign was on and everybody knew it. It was a foolish and selfish move by Yermin. He is still one of my favorite players but that was a cheap shot and whether or not you think it was, the other team and their fans did. In basketball when a team has an insurmountable lead near the end of the game, BOTH teams put their scrubs in. It is an unwritten rule. There is a reason for that. You don't send LeBron in to put a dunk demonstration on. Hard to teach some people lessons that they refuse to learn, including good sportsmanship. Carry on.
  21. Old school baseball would have called for Mercedes to get a shave at 95mph on his next plate appearance, You don't let a guy show you up, show your team up, and show your fans up in their stadium. It's that simple. Baldelli asked for something that was intended to make the same point as the old school knock-down pitch, without risking injury. If you handled it differently as Twins manager OK but your fans and players would think you were a pussy.
  22. So Sorry. Yea that would have worked to calm this down.
  23. If this happened to the White Sox at our park and Tony pussy-ed out and did nothing in response most of you would be apoplectic.
  24. Answer the question .
  25. LMFAO !!!
