Where does Luis Robert start 2018?
Ending the year at Winston Salem would be good. Then we can set eyes on ending in Double A the next year. Then by year 3 we can try to end the year in the MLB..

Most valuable prospect out of the Top 15
Does Stephens remind anyone else of Buehrle? Not great stuff. Not tons of K's, not high on our prospect list but just always gets the job done.. No I'm not advocating he is Buiehrle, I'd be happy with a 5th starter role or BP from him. I just see some similarities

Danny Salazar
I've always found Salazar to be underrated. I'd love him on this team. But like everyone else here has stated, his value is hard to peg.

Most valuable prospect out of the Top 15
I've always been a Bernardo Flores lover

Alec Hansen: The most underrated player in MiLB?
I have him as our third prospect (Eloy, Kopech, Hansen, Robert). I think he will be around top 50 when they release new lists and top 25 by the midway point next year when they update them. He is going to be a fast riser up the prospect boards. How I rank our top 10 prospects including those who came up last year (Moncada, Eloy, kopech, hansen, robert, giolito, lopez, Cease, Berger, Dunning). I could be missing a name there... but yes, i love hansen and am with you that he is underrated

2018 better or another chase for the first overall pick?
I'm going to guess around the same.. No Quintana, Robertson, Kahnle, Swarzak, Melky or Frazier for more than half the year.. I expect Avi to regress.. who doesn't? HOWEVER, I'd have to assume some improvements and positive steps from the prosepcts (Moncada, Giolito, Lopez, Kopech and Eloy (both will be up by the trade deadline)). So I will guess 65-70 wins.

Fake Rumor: White Sox and Moustakas "Close" on Deal.
With the new CBA rules it has to be over 50 mil. So if he signs for under you lose nothing

Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
QUOTE (Moncada @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 11:18 AM) Yes, we think that since their is a larger pool that the breakdown is fair. $115 to Champ, $65 to runner-up, $15 to the other division champs and wild cards. I am out.. Not enough money for the top 4 spots.

Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
So you are planning on paying out every single team that makes the playoffs?
-
Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
It looks like you have half of the pot going to people who make the playoffs (barf). That leaves only a little money for people who actually make it to the AL and NL Championship and World Series.

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
If you get in the 5 year for 70 million range I'd be open to it

Sox Sleepers
My top 5 Evan Skoung (Winds up being our best C prospect after this year) Luis Gonzalez (Solid #2 hitter potential) Bernardo Flores (Turns out to be our best LH prospect) Jake Burger (I think he will blow up this year and make the top 100 mid-season) Dyaln Cease (yes I know he's a top 10 already but I am predicting that he will make the same sort of crazy jump Kopech did. Predicting he brings he control in while keeping his rediculous K numbers and just dominates the minors and moves into the top 25 prospects by year end) These are my 5 under the radar with their bold predictions attached.

Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
Yeah, I'd only be interested if there is a fee. I wouldn't keep my interest in a free league since I'm in other money leagues. Also, I'd vote weekly

Large 30 team Fantasy Baseball Dynasty League
QUOTE (Moncada @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 03:16 PM) It's a little slow so I thought I'd see if there is any interest. I'd like to start a large 30 team deep Dynasty league (message board in conjunction with Fantrax) Something like 25-30 major league roster with 15-20 minor league roster. Mods please move in need be. Message me or post if there is any interest. The sooner the better. I'd be interested. I run a dynasty league so I'd have some helpful insight. If you do it through ESPN (my recommendation) the rosters only max out at 40. Also, I wouldn't limit the amount of MLB players and prospects. Let each owner decide what they feel is more important (Build for long term or a win now approach or somewhere in the middle).

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 27, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) Then save your money this year, work the guys this year, and see who gets hurt. Maybe it's a pitcher, maybe it's a position player. Then replace that guy for the 2019 season. My point is you'll never be able to sign a SP the caliber of Arrieta for the contract he is going to get this offseason BECAUSE all the big market teams are saving for next year.. This may be the time to bite

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
I guess my thought process is that SP USUALLY go for a boat load of money but this offseason they aren't because teams want to get under the cap so that they can go nuts next offseason.. We would be signing him way under what he would have been signed for last offseason even if he came off producing the same results.. It's just an interesting idea. 100 million for a starter usually gets you Jeff Samardzija not Jake Arrieta.. So if he has fallen to 100 million because of the reasons stated above, it would make some sense to kick those tires

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 26, 2017 -> 02:19 PM) There is a lot about Arrieta that is trending in the wrong direction. That is a contract that I do believe the White Sox would regret very quickly. Can you give me examples?

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Dec 26, 2017 -> 11:40 AM) Man, If Arrieta is anywhere near the projected contract of 100 million I'd be interested in making a run at him. Kind of like what the Cubs did when they signed Lester. Everyone thought it was a year too early but it turned out to work in their favor.. 100 million for Arrieta seems very cheap.. Especially since Samardzija got 90 million after his tragic year with us.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 21, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) I used to see photos and videos of Alexei pumping iron and working hard in the offseason. Then the season would roll around and he still looked like he spent the entire winter on a deserted island looking for some berries. I just laughed out loud.

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
After last season he isn't cracking any list....

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (pablo @ Dec 20, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) I floated a Hansen + Rutherford package in another thread which I think is a good start. Depending on the rankings that come out, these guys could both be top 75 prospects heading into next season. I know Hansen might be off limits for people but Yelich would be tough to pass up. I'd be in favor of bringing in a cost-controlled star particularly position players because I just don't see Sox being able to bring in the top FA's. Yes we'll have the money, but do players really want to come here? And don't forget, Sox have two top 50 picks in next draft that will help offset the loss of any prospects traded this season. Not to mention maybe dealing Avi, trading for Kemp and prospects etc. Rutherford isn't top 100 and I'd be surprised if Hansen isn't top 50

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 20, 2017 -> 11:21 AM) What gives you the "feeling" that Giolito was included? I really doubt that. I'd vomit

White Sox have shown interest in Machado
I'd imagine more at the deadline as teams get more desperate to win. or see there window as winning now

Abreu trade "unlikely"
QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Dec 18, 2017 -> 09:47 PM) I still think they look for an upgrade at 1B/DH. This was more as insurance so the Ramirez option doesn't vest. Ramirez is RH Moreland LH. If Ramirez option vests it costs them 22 million. He needs like 400 plus PA. I find it hard to believe even with Moreland and some other new addition that his option doesn't vest. 400 PA is not many especially considering this is a hopeful playoff team that won't bench it's best players just because of an option (even though it sucks). Only way around the option for them is if they find a trade partner for him which is doubtful

Your Off Season Plan
QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Dec 19, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) I'm not mad at all. I just like to see us draft some highschoolers and be active in IFA to build a 2nd line after the 1st wave gets promoted. I also don't want to see a situation where we have guys blocked either. You're completely right about this.. We need some young prospects to help for continued success.
