Are you sure you don't mean Keuchal?

Keuchel is by definition one of those "reliable" innings-eating middle of rotation vets.

Something along the lines of Maeda/Rich Hill/Jake Odorizzi....not a huge contract, but much more of an investment than Gio Gonzalez.

  • This lineup is so absurd I had to come out of hibernation to join the fun

Grandal has averaged a 5.0 fWAR the last 5 seasons. Only White Sox fans would b**** about his acquisition 2 and 1/2 games into his White Sox career after a long layoff.

Is it troublesome that during game 5 of the season I'm looking up who we have to catch for the wildcard?

I don't think he is being literal here. Just that he's not a guy with a perfect bill of health in his career.

Exactly, Eloy went down with an injury in the third game of the season that has already cost him multiple games.  This has nothing to do with COVID, these guys all have horrible track records.

If we are going to carry Collins on the roster I say just DH McCann whenever either Encarnacion or Abreu rest. Collins should be good enough as an emergency catcher.

I know. It just bugs me when people complain about lineups when they have multiple starters out. The team should obviously have 5 starting outfielders on the roster and 7 starting infielders because obviously starting quality players will sign up for backup positions.

Got it. Makes sense with his injury history to which he was referring.

What are you talking about?

Just too many holes in this lineup to sustain any momentum. Automatic outs at 4, 5, 8, 9 puts a lot of pressure on the top of the lineup

Send Goins, Delmonico and Collins down.

Bring Madrigal, Mazara and Yermin up.

hey yo-yo let's tie it up

Tim is hitting, Yoan, McCann and Luis as well. Good to see. Now, to get some of these others going...

I complained all offseason about the lack of OF depth and wanted to sign a Cameron Maybin type on the cheap.  Again, this has nothing to do with COVID despite you trying to frame my argument that way.

You were referring to Mazara' and Jimenez injury history so they should have better backups. I was just curious as to injury Mazara had that the Sox should have predicted.

Maybe the sox pitchers should throw dugout fits after every bad inning

After growing up watching Zambrano on the other side of the city I'm gonna take a HARD pass here.

Meant to say “needed”. Keuchel is one of those two vets but they’re still one short assuming 2019 Giolito is what we see moving forward.

Mazara on IL (possibly Covid).    Yermin hasn't been getting consistent at-bats wherever he is, and you can't bench EE five games into a season after you gave him that much money just to hit.   Yermin has the type of game where he almost has to play 75-80% of the time, and that would be fine on the 2016-2019 Chicago White Sox teams.

Abreu on! Now time for our cleanup hitter, boom!!

Oh...

I wasn't framing it that way. I just see how the sox should have 5 outfielders of starter quality that would agree to backup contracts.

2 on for..... Delmonico.....rally killed

Hey if it works, it works. Just gotta keep them away from guitar hero

Probably his long list of injury problems last year...although it was equally non-performance.  Hard to separate one from the other.

Scared to pitch to Nicky here!

Just let mccann start every game at c

Small sample size - but he looks like a franchise catcher and that last year was not a fluke.

Who said a starting caliber OF?  And Cameron Maybin signed for $1.5M.

If I was Rick Hahn and saw that lineup I would be calling Ricky's personal cell phone to tell him to stop the non sense.
