Babe Ruth's first few games in the majors have shown exactly what we should have expected from him:  An interesting pitching prospect that really can't hit.  As I write this Ruth has been involved in

And the injury bug continues....

RIP Delmonico and falling victim to those soft infield ground balls ???

Honestly compared to most other teams we've been rather fortunate.  None of the injuries look serious and Rodon was always a massive question mark same with Reylo.  Also, Mendick and Garcia are playing their ass off in the steed of TA and Madrigal right now.

Agreed. Injuries are bad right now. Braves especially hard hit with major stuff

I can't believe he separated his shoulder on that play, or injured himself at all for that matter. That was just a routine slide into third base. Hopefully someone can teach him to slide properly, should have never happened

He has a frail little body.  He's always going to susceptible to injuries that bigger stronger players are not.

If you watch the video he lands hard on his elbow. This drive the humerus up into the acromium (top of the shoulder). This is a classic shoulder separation move. He's lucky he didnt fracture his clavicle. I typically see this in people falling off a bike.

Maybe but this isn't one of them. If anything a larger person would have a longer lever arm (pun intended) produced more force and had a more severe injury.

If anything smaller lighter players will be less prone to injury as the forces usually are not as strong, from falling to swinging to everything else.

moment of inertia!

Movement of the body is nothing more than physics with a little physiology to provide the force.

Now that Delmonico is gone, what will people b**** about?

*Zack Collins immediately hides in his locker*

I personally like Collins, but I'm sure he's the next guy on that will be painted as the whipping boy of this fan base.

There's a difference between giving a guy playing time because of injuries and batting the guy cleanup.

So is Madrigals injury the same as having your shoulder pop out of the socket like Lethal Weapon?

No. That is a dislocation. His was a pop in the joint above it, the AC joint. His "popped" going up not out.

So this is much better news than a dislocation, right?

Not sure how our team is going to stay in the playoff picture after demoting our clean up hitter.

Much.

Nick Madrigal’s first few games in the majors have shown exactly what we should have expected from him: A lot of weak contact and very few strikeouts. Madrigal is 5-for-17 for the White Sox as I write this, garnering four of those hits in one game against a weak array of Royals pitching, with all five hits going for singles. He’s struck out only twice for an 11.1 percent rate that would put him in the top 20 percent of all hitters if he qualified. This is pretty much what he is — a high-contact, no-power second baseman who’s a regular if he keeps his average high.
