Tony La Russa named Manager

does Hahn fire Ricky if he thought this was going to happen? Did Hahn fire Ricky?

He might have tried to do so but ownership would have said no without this. This closes the loop to make that firing “classic white Sox”.

Everyone was surprised at RR because the white Sox never remove managers for cause. Turns out it wasn’t for cause, it was to get another of JRs buddies around. So White Sox.

Reinsdorf needs to speak on this too, in my opinion.

I'd also like a reaction from Hawk ;)

This sucks...

Now... I'm not gonna lose my shit yet.  I think he's better than either of Ricky or Ventura.  I think he has still be involved in baseball, though not on the field, so he isn't completely unaware of the evolution of the game.  It's not like he was sitting around gardening and riding his lawnmower the past 10 years. I don't like it.  I'm not a fan of the hire.  I'll still reserve judgement, and wait to see what happens with the team.  All this b****ing will be moot if he wins a couple WS here.

That said... lots of people angry about TLR, because the Sox didn't hire a cheater in Hinch?  So bizarre.

I'm not sure he's allowed to ride a lawnmower anymore.

So from what I heard he was offered the job last week and just had to get his family to sign off on it.

Which would 100% confirm that Jerry trumped the interview process and basically make Hahn look like a total asshole

This is where being a lawyer will come in.  He is going to say all of the right and politically correct things.

He should resign. He is now officially demoted to assistant general manager, or General Manager in name only.

You're executive of the year and you're not allowed to even pick your manager lol what a disgrace. If it wasn't for the lifetime security, Hahn would be gone by now.

Hawk as hitting coach. Hittin’ fungoes.

Have they announced the rest of the coaching staff?

No way this could go wrong.

Us fans put up with all of the garbage of rebuilding, only to get this far and then have this be the hire?

I feel like this team was building strong momentum and then they kick us in the nuts with this.

Wow.... Reinsdorf better open up the checkbook. Give me a freaking break. Time to go jerry

Great idea but who is going to want to play for La Russia?

So why did we fire Ricky exactly?

TLR checks both the cheater and asshole boxes.

Just about everyone in baseball was cheating back in the 90's with steroids... I don't care if he's an asshole, as long as the Sox play for him, and win under him, and they win a couple WS.

Quenneville was a giant asshole, also...

3 step forward, one face slap back.

LOL this thought did cross my mind today. It's like when you drive through Rhode Island and are like "Wait what is this...wait what IS THIS?"

The steroid era A's and Cards would like to remind you who their manager was.

I really want to hear from Anderson

There are plenty of MLB players who agree with Tony’s opinions on social issues

As I said once already... everyone was cheating in the steroid era... singling out TLR as if he was the only coach is absurdly stupid.

Call your ticket rep and let them know you will be cancelling and not renewing your season tickets. I did.

Could be worse, he could be a criminal!

Oh wait.
