Records above for all time, not just the "modern era". Saint Louis currently has 14 consecutive wins, tied for most during the "modern era" in franchise history, but 3 behind the franchise's all time streak.

Congrats to my second favorite team, the Tampa Bay Rays on winning the AL Eastern Division. So far a great year for such a fun team to watch, they will be tough in the playoffs.

Braves were down to their last out. Passed ball, base hit ties it. Phillies fans are not happy. If the Braves lose, it’s a half game lead.
Phillies in Atlanta on Tuesday.

And the Padres are eliminated from the playoffs after their mega off season and in season additions

lmfao

SLAM DIEGO

The Sox would have also faced a challenge making the playoffs in the NL West this season.

Jerry may not have even bothered to try, would have a permanent built in excuse for waving a perennial wild card carrot in light of not being able to compete against two “big market teams”.

This is a special quality of petty when you make up an imaginary situation to call Jerry cheap about in a season where the team extended Lynn and brought in Kimbrel,  Hernandez,  and Tepera, along with their contracts.

Au contraire.  I think the Giants and Dodgers are giving thanks that Sox were not in their division.

In your hypothetical scenario, maybe Abreu is an absolute Olympian God cause he doesn't have to deal with cold weather. Maybe it applies to Yoan and Yasmani as well.

Who fucking knows. The roster was built for the AL, in Chicago. And the Padres, who lorded Tatis and Machado over the Sox, are on their way to below .500 after their rockstar GM gave up more WAR than he got back.

Would he be able to get it direct from the factory or would it have to ship to the US and then back to China?

Coffee is for closers.

Last night, Cleveland's Bradley Zimmer became the 4th player in MLB history to homer off his brother when he took Kyle deep last night. Last one was Joe Neikro vs Phil.

What an idiot.

Didn't he get hurt before the playoffs last year too?

Mumbling something angry about a guy named Jeff.

This could happen in the wild card race with 3 games left.

Scenario: Three-team tie for one Wild Card spot

If, for example, the Yankees were in the top Wild Card spot and the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Mariners were all tied for the second spot, the three tied teams would choose/receive A, B and C designations. Club A would host Club B on Monday, Oct. 4. The winner of that game would then host Club C on Tuesday to determine the second Wild Card spot. The AL Wild Card Game would be pushed back from Tuesday in this scenario.

It is extremely, extremely funny to me that padres are likely to finish below .500.
