This is ridiculous.  Giolito's is one bad start. That was on Grandal? And Rodons ERA is below 1.00 with Grandal and he is more comfortable with someone else?  The Grandal is so bad train is off t

Wonder if they do explore a Grandal for McCann flip...the Mets have the money to absorb that deal, if they wanted to. Maybe Yasmani is just more comfortable in the NL, and vice versa with McCann.

  • Mendick is a heck of a utility player. I hope we see him in the OF more often. No more Hamilton, please.

Starting to wonder if scouting is catching up to Giolito’s FB/CH combo and how much he’s gonna have to adjust/switch it up with how much he sees the same teams.

I think it's simply a matter of his stuff not being there. The scouting report didn't catch up to him for 2 years. Why would they start catching up all of a sudden now unless he's tipping his pitches?

Don’t know.  Something is missing though.  Be it tipping pitches or knowing you have a 50/50 chance to get your pitch

I would give Lucace the rest of the day off.

Jose Abreu is looking pretty terrible getting 90 mph fastballs in the zone blown by him. M-V-P M-V-P

All this talk of trading Yermin this offseason... If Abreu keeps playing horribly, they need to keep Yermin on the team. Jose literally can't catch up to 91 mph heat in the stroke zone.

thank God it's the royals and not a good team vs Lucas today

Might wanna get the bullpen up it he doesn't get Merrifield.

Woof.

5 & dive type of day for Gio

When he was struggling recently Giolito was still getting strikeouts and swinging strikes but he’s not missing any bats right now.

Between this clown Giolito throwing 92-93, and the joke catching him, it is amazing the Sox aren't down at least 5.

Not missing bats or putting guys away 0-2.

Would love for Tony to be watching the game and say 5 innings, 1 run is good to call it a day.

That's 9 hard-hit balls (above 95 MPH) for KC today. They have an xBA of .329. Giolito has walked the tightest of all tight ropes to only allow 1 run today.

He, like most of the rest of the team, clearly sucks.

Gio hasn’t been the sharpest but he’s through 5 with the lead intact.

Lucas has been very fortunate today with balls getting hit hard right at fielders

Agreed.

Ok, Vaughn is getting his first this inning. (And I’ve never predicted this before)

Watch Tony let him start the 6th.

In that scenario who plays first ?

Not a terrible outing thus far from our number 5 starter with only two pitches that the league figured out.

Gio made it through 5 without his good stuff. I’m guessing he’ll be back out there, though.

I thought Yaz hit that out.
