Yes I agree, both teams are scary.

Seems like every starting pitcher that has been a CY frontrunner has blown it. Maybe this is the year to give it to a closer? Maybe one with a K/BB over 15?

There isn't a real frontrunner in the AL. Had Lance not given up 6 runs against Cleveland he might still be in the conversation after Ray and Cole both had bad last outings.

Last two divisions likely getting clinched within the next 30 minutes.

Nelson Cruz kills the Sox even when he's not in the same city.

Tampa Bay is beatable. Either one of the wild card teams may beat them.

Welp that’s that.

Astros win the West, which locks in a Sox-Astros ALDS matchup.

Sox will be on the road in games 1 and 2 unless the Sox can sweep Detroit and the A's sweep the Astros.

Mariners tied for 2nd wild card...that is crazy.

Win at least one in Houston and we are sitting nicely. If it goes 5, we are gonna wish we didn't blow HFA.

If we steal one in Houston, we will win it in 4.

For 3-way tie-
Red Sox beat Nationals 2-1

Mariners beat Angels 2-1

Blue Jays sweep Orioles 3-0

Yup…assuming every game were a 50/50, that’s a 1.56% chance of getting the 2 seed.  Seems unlikely.

Highly unlikely, but I think it's a 4 way tie if the Ray's were to sweep the Yankees.

A lot of Astro fans and sites already talking crap on twitter. It’s starting.

They’re the douchiest fan base.  They think that “owning” their disgraced cheater status will make it go away but it just makes it worse.  Man, I’m so getting beat up in Houston

Never understood the fans trashing other teams or fan bases.

It's stupid, because just like the Cubs, the White Sox have played and won the one postseason series against each, and also own the all time series record against both teams (Houston (39-38) & Cubs (74-66)). At least the Cubs were able to salvage two games in the World Series.

I liked the Astros growing up, Jose Cruz, J. R. Richard, Cesar Cedeno, Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott. Respected them in 2005. Haven't liked them since the douchebag GM was taunting women reporters about Osuna. Jim Crane is trash, he should have been suspended or forced to sell the team if MLB had any balls and/or sense. I won't like them until he is gone, because it will take his departure to finally remove the stench from that franchise.

The best part is we swept them in the World Series and they can literally never top that.

Anybody else not trust the Astros, despite getting busted before? I wouldn't put wearing wires with a buzzer past them. I just don't fucking trust them.

Welcome ASTRO haters!

Haha. Too bad literally no one except actual Astros fans will be cheering for the Astros in this series.

Sox have a chance to be Americas team and they need to show up and ball out.

10/1:

New York has taken a 2 game lead over Boston and Seattle for in the wild card race. A New York win and a loss by either Boston or Seattle wraps up a wild card spot tonight. Toronto sits 1 game behind Boston/Seattle and needs to win and get help.

In the National League, Atlanta won the NL East last night and will be the #3 seed. Milwaukee is locked into the #2 seed. San Francisco and Los Angeles both win to keep the Giants 2 clear of the Dodgers in the NL West. a Giants win and Dodgers loss tonight clinches the NL West and #1 seed for San Francisco.

Playoff race weekend series starting today: Boston at Washington, Tampa Bay at NY Yankees, Baltimore at Toronto, Oakland at Houston, San Diego at San Francisco, Milwaukee at LA Dodgers.
