Astros play Arizona this weekend. We're going to have to take care of business against a bad Rangers team if we want home-field in the ALDS.

I'm not liking our odds. We're basically 4 games back with 16 to go since we have to be one game better than them due to them owning the tie-breaker. Plus, our play recently isn't exactly encouraging. I think we'll probably end up at 91 or 92 wins.

That's two IL stints from now. He wants to know when Engel will be back from this IL stint.

Agree completely. Houston would have to stumble. I'm not OVERLY hung up on it, but it sure would be nice to start out that series at home where we clearly play better baseball. Tough to beat them in that building.

Yep.  I keep saying "just get healthy"  for consolation.  But even that feels like tall timber for this team right now.

I really hope the Sox do something about their training staff this offseason.   Just too many soft tissues issues all season.

Astros magic number on the Sox is 13 with 16 games left.  The Sox hfa will have to be in the ALCS against the wildcard team that knocks off the Rays.

When is Engel supposed to be back?

He's been injured all year but I would invite him to spring training.

All they need is a healthy lineup lol check out the Dodger and Yankee injuries.

Feels like sweeping this series is almost an essential for the Sox to realistically land the 2 seed.

so, let's do it.

Sheets scratched from RF and now Tim is back in for consecutive days at SS.

Good to see Tim back.  We need to win this game after two losses in a row to the Angels at home, which were a big downer.

Tony said at some point on this road trip. I was expecting him to be activated today.

Sure would be nice to see the 2020 lineup show up tonight. Mediocre lefties like Hearn *should* have no shot against this Sox lineup.

Robert really isn't pushing anything on the bases right now.

That would have been a 3 run homer a lot of places.

Yaz doesn't do that often

Eloy is a total 0 right now. Weak first pitch grounder after weak first pitch grounder.

Eloy is lost

This is a big park. Cease needs to not be afraid of bats and attack the strike zone. No walks tonight.

on offspeed pitches especially

It’s going to come out during the off season that Eloy rushed back from his injury and never felt 100%.

Just throw Eloy off-speed first pitch. More often than not he'll swing at it and ground out.

lol no.

Fake news

Would it be bad to point out Eloy's career wRC+ is 120? He's a very good hitter but when he was returning from injury it felt like some people were acting as if he's already Juan Soto or something.

25 pitch 1st wow
