I guess that the thought is, Mendick has a lot more experience than Romy at the MLB level, and no matter what, neither guy was going to play unless TA and/or Moncada got hurt.  So it's a choice between 2 guys who won't take the field or get an AB unless the most tragic events occur.

He ripped the ball to 3rd in one of his at bats and was just a hang with em + great defensive play by Bregman too.  Lets be honest - Astros defense and advanced analytics have been a major difference in this series.  Sox are up a few more runs today with better positioning on D combined with Astros D not being perfect. Yesterday's game is a lot tighter if the D played cleaner.  

Can't have a 1-2-3 inning to save our lives.

I wish all of the defenders/enablers would return from earlier in the year to admit it probably hasn't worked out as they had imagined.  Since Renteria won one game and had to throw Keuchel and a full bullpen game to boot.
