That's not bad at all.  Hopefully we learned our lesson not to play 1B in RF.  Address the fucking position and stop playing games.

Anyone playing the outfield is always going to have plays where the ball is just a little out of reach. No matter how fast they are. Vaughn getting injured diving could happen to any of these guys tra

OK Tony. Almost daily, I am reminded why I was so glad Hawk fired him.

I'll take it.

Phew.

Yeah that’s definitely best case scenario

For the record, I was first in with hip pointer. If you guys need any other inside info, just remember, I am not Steve Cishek.

That's pretty much the best case. Seems odd they waited so long to say anything. Maybe an MRI to see if there was a small fracture for the pelvis?

Yep.

So my question for the Sox organization…

what have you learned here?

Oh thank God

I don't think I could deal with this a fourth time in 12 months.

They didn't learn a damn thing. They were already sending out state media yesterday to write shit about how it could happen to anyone in the field even though Vaughn totally lacks the range and athleticism for the position and he is going to have to dive to make plays other real OFers could make without incurring those risks.

The fact that Pravda on 35th was out in full force should tell you that the team remains firmly entrenched in its tone deaf echo chamber of delusion.

Penny wise and pound foolish remains the order of the day.

If they're putting Eloy out there and haven't learned anything I'm not sure why this would change things

Wasn't it @DickAllen who told us he went through the same thing and it was a hip pointer? Or am I mixing it up.

Wow, an injury that wasn't worst case scenario?

Perhaps the vibes are shifting.

that when players dive on the ground they can get a bruise?

Anyone playing the outfield is always going to have plays where the ball is just a little out of reach. No matter how fast they are. Vaughn getting injured diving could happen to any of these guys traveling at a full sprint and diving. He’s a pretty sure handed fielder and he takes good routes to the ball. He’s just slow.
For Adam Engel, this is a catch on the run. For Vaughn, it is not. The question is if diving is ever really worth it. It is certainly not in ST. It may be a business decision these guys have to make during the regular season.

Great call on that one.  Your firsthand knowledge of what that feels like gave me optimism.

No. He’s a first baseman you can put in LF and tell him not to dive until Abreu is gone. Eloy should be the full time DH. And the Sox should still sign Conforto.

Hip pointer maybe ?

I think we may have been the only two who didn’t jump off a bridge right away ?

Nevermind. Obviously a serious day due to the extent of the injury
