Why would anyone throw Anderson a strike with runners in scoring position?

Why would anyone throw a strike to TA period?

There are so many different ways you can make your team better on the margins, and the Sox are bad at all of them

It always seems to go back to the sox aren't smart enough to compete with the elite team's.

That's a very valid point.

It's in their heads.

And working it's way into their blood and bones.

You live and die with the over-aggressiveness that TA has at the plate. It works when no one is on base, and he can swing freely. But not so much, in that situation.

I waver right now between the anger and bargaining stage as I'm realizing they aren't good enough and probably will never be.

Are these guys being taught how to be patient up there when they aren’t throwing strikes and just take a walk for the team? They look like they are always in a hurry to get out of the inning and just pressing.

As an English teacher I approve this post.

Ruiz did what Cease should have done.

The elite teams all have just as good if not better talent than the Sox. Against the best teams is when everything the Sox do poorly on the margins really starts to get magnified.

We always let the other team's best hitter beat us.

Dude, just take a break from the Sox

But don't waver on posting your decision.

A lot of our hitters have problematic hitting approaches. We're gonna need one hell of a hot streak at the right time to win a championship.

Well, we did let the player who looked the best on the Sox vs the Yankees last year leave and didn’t replace him (Rodon).  But hey, look out AL Central!

Vaughn with 2 HRs down in the bandbox of Charlotte, tonight.

Every AB seems to be 5 minutes long.

TLR is going to retire at the end of year if this continues like this.

That's great news

Can't put Hicks away. He's thrown some real good change ups against Hicks and he keeps fouling them off.

But his wrist is irreparably damaged said Parkamn ?

Just in case - if anyone ever cites Cease’s BABIP as suggesting he’s been unlucky this year I want us to point back to this game thread as why it wasn’t luck.

It would have been interesting to see him at third, at DH, what would have become of Crede, how much attendance would have been with A Rod and when they would have dealt him like Texas did.

It would have changed so many things and who knows if they would have been successful with A Rod here.  They also definitely would have dealt him like Texas imo.
