Let's all keep following these dumbass WAR stats and all the sabermetric BS.  Moncada sucks ass.  WAR is not going to point out his half ass effort throw there that caused a 2 run HR thereafter.

Or is WAR going to penalize Robert for not running out a dropped 3rd strike, with a speedy runner on 2B who could take 3rd with a throw to 1B or even perhaps cause a wild throw down the line?  Th

careful, there's a cholla behind us.

Didn't look good when they were down 4-1 but they hung in there and offense came alive.  Need more xtra base hits though.

Would have loved to take 4 out of 5, but they won the series.

Rematch with the Yankees next.  Let's hope Dallas continues to have their #.

There always is.

Edgar: 'Now there's something you don't see every day. ' Chauncey: 'What's that, Edgar? '

Tested my obscure pop culture reference and came up empty.

You can score seven runs in a game? Huh! Learn something new every day.

Does Cueto replace VV or does VV stay on the team until Lynn comes back?

Fully expecting another Yoan IL stint here.

His per 162 average is 31 homers 152 games into his career.  He has a career wRC+ is 131.  He's already an elite hitter, and that includes large stretches where he looked absolutely helpless at hte plate.  Robert can be frustrating to watch at times, but his peak is still best player in the game and he's still far from a finished product.  As usual, get a grip on reality.

I keep forgetting that Robert is 24, not 26+ like the other guys. He still has room to grow. Same with Vaughn.

They're in a completely different place in their careers than the other "core" players.

It's not between Cueto and VV it's Keuchel and VV.

This isn’t likely at all.

Between getting an extension or getting released if he continues to suck into August?

Hahn is a dumbass, but not this dumb.

It's Vince. He's the one with the best chance to be sent to the minors preserving team depth.

He was signed to a major league contract though according to the thread where he was signed. How can he be sent to the minors without being released?

I think he has a shot to be a decent long reliever. He's just not starting pitcher material.

I'm fairly sure if you just stood up there against Garrett without a bat, you'd walk 6 times out of 10.

At one point recently RH hitters against Garrett this season were 2/21 and LH hitters just 1/12 but walking the world.

Let's first see Cueto and how he fares against better teams. KC averages only 2.5 runs per game at home.

Unless he accepted the reassignment.  But then some players might prefer to get their full contract paid off right away and to latch on with a rebuilding team that can give him a spot in the rotation to keep from having to use prospects before they are fully ready. Like Derek Holland who we overpaid during the rebuild.

Thank you Jerry for bringing in TLR to manage this potentially great team! Additionally, thank you TLR, for bringing your buddy, the "yes man" and genius hitting guru Menechino to make this great potential team hit so well and be near the bottom of the league in all the key offensive categories!

Low energy, no accountability manager.  Bad coaching.  TLR is ruining this season for the Sox.

Even Benetti is getting into the action commenting why do the Sox have the fewest pinch hitting in the majors at five and the Diamondbacks backs have had 49 pinch hitters.   And that TLR doesn’t like to pinch hit players while on their “rest” days.   How many times we have seen our resting sluggers grabbing bench late in close games, and TLR letting the scrubs hit in game situations,  our Chuck has also questioned TLR moves as well.  And these are Sox employees.  TLR has to go and soon.

With all of the players injured running to first, many in here were telling players not to go all out to first.

Looks that way. The guy looked like he was in pain and could barely walk much less run.

There's a difference between hustling down the line running through the bag like a professional baseball player and lunging to the base causing self injury.

tie game with a dogshit royals team to get back to .500 and Sousa is pitching critical outs. Is to laugh.

Better Sousa than Banks or Burr.

Damn it I wanted Robert to run on that 2nd pitch .

It was a no brainer to run Robert.  Abreu is a double play in a baseball uniform.  TLR had been putting runners in motion ahead of Abreu to avoid the DP, but must have been sleep this time.
