I am speculating that VV will move to the pen after his start tomorrow and will join D Martin in the pen to help solidify the pen.

That's all pending on if MK is good to go without going on the DL.  I actually think Vince V could be a good piece in the pen until the pen is solidified and guys from IL come back.

Speculating, that's why I asked if anyone agreed with it. Lynn is back . I know Kopech is injured but hasn't been IL'd yet and Cueto pitched early after Kopech's injury .But with the Hendriks and Bummer IL'd and Graveman moving into the closer role, Kelly takes over the 8th in Graveman's role and the general overuse of the pen, maybe he is needed more in the BP than as a starter now. In my head it's a tossup leaning towards BP.

I don't hate the idea.  Martin can't be worse than the last handful of guys we're throwing out there right now anyway.  They may want to keep him stretched out for eventual Kopech insurance down the road, though.

Ruiz (probably out, needs another day)

Foster (probably out, needs another day)

Crick (Pitched an inning + yesterday so probably out)

Banks (Pitched 3 innings in last 2 days so probably out)

Davis Martin (?????? maybe starting tomorrow)

Jimmy Lambert (Should be available today)

Reynaldo Lopez (Should be available today)

Kendall Graveman (Probably not available having pitched 3 of 4 games)

Joe Kelly (Available and maybe the closer today)

 

I would assume they have the following guys today if needed......

Lambert (6th inning or earlier)

Martin (7th if available)

OK didn't see that, so V V will be off the IL then tomorrow and maybe Martin in long relief of him since he's not getting any rehab assignment if Martin doesn't pitch tonight.

I don’t get batting Moncada 5th. Abreu hit 2 out yesterday. With Moncada hitting behind him, will he see a strike tonight that is not a mistake?  Shit like this I don’t get. It just seems so basic to understanding lineups.

Would really help if moncada started showing he's a major league hitter. There isn't a better time then now.

With Burger out, there's really no one else to hit 5th. I guess you would just move a guy like Engel up depending on pitcher handedness.

Tony's strategy seems to be to give some one with a history extra time to find himself.  Can't say I disagree with him, but on the basis of the here and now, Engel is more likely to make some solid contact.  Yoan's gotta show me something, and soon.  He's killing the team.
