That's about the best lineup you can have right now. Eloy LF, Pollock RF, Vaughn DH might make the outfield defense a tad better, but pretty close to optimal.

When your optimal lineup includes Moncada, Grandall, Harrison, and Sosa as your 6-9 hitters - well, that says a lot!

It amazes me that Pollock who is a natural outfielder does not play RF, but we throw our plodding DH-1B (Vaughn or Sheets) out there.

Sox are 22 out of 30 in runs scored in the first 5 innings, but the Tigers are dead last…guess who will be leading after 5 innings tonight?

Why does this game start at 6:10.  I have tickets and am not going but WTF. 

Engel has the same OPS + as Pollock (79), but unlike Pollock (or Sheets, or Vaughn) can actually play RF. 

Is he injured or hated by Tony, seeing he has started two games since July 26?

Engel isn't great by any means, but he is a good fielder and the drop-off in hitting isn't that large. He definitely should be starting more than 1 time a week with the horseshit RF options the White Sox have this season.

Also, the more you play Pollock, the higher his guaranteed player option is for next season based on his incentives.

Seriously though -- actively choosing to not involve the white sox in a beautiful summer night. On paper this has the makings of a blowout ... lefty who's struggled and been in and out of the rotation, cut by teams, in and out of the league. Abreu absolutely tees off on him historically. that said, he was a former 1st round pick ... involved in the david price trade ... and if he's ever going to find his form i'm sure it'll be tonight and TLR will just say he had his "stuff" today. 

If there's a franchise in more disarray than the sox right now its the tigers who took a nice window they had too and just absolutely shut it on their own hands with that javy baez albatross contract. If we walk away with anything less than a sweep it's a disaster weekend. 

Even if they sweep, i will not watch this team unless they then take 2/3 from Houston. Take 5/6 and I'll start caring.
