Per Passan, Elvis Andrus signing with White Sox, joining team in Cleveland

I would sign Andrus.  He’s not good, but Sosa is not ready and needs ABs in AAA. Keep Romy, sign Andrus, pinch hit when necessary.  Cut Harrison and Andrus at end of year.

Agree. The Harrison hate is too much. Does he suck? Yeah kinda, but he's far from our biggest problem. He's been fine for 2+ months now and there's no internal option better. We roll with Harrison for

The way Anderson has played SS all season he should move to 2B or RF when healthy if Elvis is playing to his level of defensive play.

Andrus actually has more fWAR than half our position players this year.

I'm perfectly fine with adding Andrus, especially for his defense.  His bat will be fine when compared to what the Sox were getting out of Leury, Sosa, and now Gonzalez in place of TA.

Andrus would need to be the every day SS, which means Harrison and Sosa split time at 2B?  Harrison gives you the edge with his defense, but neither are hitting much right now.

Harrison D has not been that great lately.

who gets dropped from the 40 man?

That doesn't change the 40-man roster.

Going to guess Yoan Aybar.

One of the pitchers who has been awful in AAA that will never come up

Another one is Tobias Myers.

Can't they just move Bummer to the 60 day?

Sosa should be sent back down.

That's....not how the 40 man works.

Aybar or Severino would both be easy cuts.  Cannot believe they've last this long.  Crick could maybe be added to that list as well.  He's out of options and won't be able to be shuttled between AAA and MLB next season so he's good as gone this offseason.

Guys… it happened! Leury is on the DL and we got a washed up Cleveland killer joining the squad.

Quick!!! Someone go break Garcia’s kneecaps or something.

Looking at the date he went on the list, looks like he is already at 60 days, so if they haven't already, they could.

That's an option. But then they'd have to take someone off the 40 man eventually when he comes back in a few weeks (hopefully).

I figured that out and deleted my post.

Bummer or Crick to the 60 day. 40 man roster solved.

And Rick Hahn gets to hoard all the worthless relief pitchers he's holding onto for some reason.

I vote Crick.

When I was your age, it was very easy to get a list of the 40-man roster.  Not so anymore.

Churning over the talent at the bottom part of the 40-man roster has definitely not been a strength of Hahn.

Gotta try anything. Need me MLB ready depth.

this signing is fine...but hold the expectations on defense. His metrics are down - DRS is -6 and UZR is slightly better at 2.6, so he is no longer elite. and a 97 wrc+ is so in line with this team this year...yuck.
