There you go Harrison! First pitch soft grounder to third is exactly what we wanted!

  • Oh my goodness no.  The 2006 team would win 9 out of 10 games against this team. They won 90 games.  They had 4 players who hit 30+ home runs.  There were 7 players on that team that hit more HR

Royals play Detroit next so that's very possible for them.

  • Also shows the humidor narrative is horseshit.

First pitch swinging on a guy who has control issues. Zero gameplan.... Lol

Stone and Jason are talking about this guy and all I'm thinking is...take a pitch or two, make him throw strikes. So obviously you want to swing on the first pitch.

These hitters are getting zero strategy, zero insight, and zero help up at the plate.

The Padres are everything we want the Sox to be from a team management perspective.

Harrison the out maker

Is Gavin Sheets the only one allowed to pull the ball on this team?

He went to AAA where they told him it's OK to pull the ball and hit homers if that's where they pitch you. They might have also told him "Fuck that Menechino guy".

He’s also the only lefty hitter they have that doesn’t have dead legs

Good job getting those lefties.

Give the runs back Banks

Hahn keeps forcing this bum ass Banks to the ML roster.

Rinse Repeat.

I haven't watched in a while now, but that seems very telling as a summation of the entire club. Andrew Vaughn is a good hitter. He's been a good hitter literally his entire baseball career, and that really hasn't changed now that he's in MLB.

There doesn't seem to be any plan, any strategy, and certainly any urgency to put good AB's together, work up a pitch count, play the long game, etc. It's a bunch of individuals going up to the plate without a gameplan and hoping for the best.

A big issue Vaughn has is once he gets two strikes, he expands his zone big time.  He also struggles to walk because he keeps swinging at pitcher’s pitches and rolling over.

Somehow this still has disaster written all over it.

That's baseball. The process they're taking is correct.

I wish I cared about the outcome of this game. Way to show up Lucas.

Lambert hasn't been good lately at stranding runners.

Play 1st basemen in the outfield and those are the results you deserve to get

Haha great effort Gavin

There are things to nitpick with Vaughn, but I can't get upset when I think he's being coached in the least efficient way possible and still has a 127 wRC+. If a new hitting coach comes in and emphasizes walks, pull power, etc I have little doubt he'll be able to do that, too.

It’s great for it to happen.  Anything that forces them to change things this offseason.

Opponents scoring at will inning after Sox score

Gavin the lawn dart. Sigh, not his fault they're playing a 1B in Right.  Yeesh.
