Looks like he hasn’t started in the OF since August 26th (unless I misread/missed a boxscore). Is this because of a minor injury or has this organization finally learned that he should be DHing most games?

Definitely because of the injury . Last time he played the OF he came up limping and was taken out so that might be the last time you were referring to. He's still limping around and being pinch ran for late in games when he gets on. They don't want him sprinting too much.

Which is paying huge dividends since he is staying healthy and now crushing the ball in his 5 game hitting streak going 11-21 with 3 Home runs and 9 RBI's. 

This is why I’m never trading Eloy. He’s just an amazing bat when healthy. 

He's now become one of the most dangerous hitters in MLB.

Yep. With all the injury concerns, you’d be selling low every time. I really want to see the numbers he would put up if he played 140/150 games in a season.

And we have had a couple of the best ever DHs. Both are in the Hall.

Which he without a doubt should be moving forward.  Requires that tough decision on Pito/AV, but such is the situation the Sox made for themselves.

That's the key, we need him healthy, the guy is a beast and who knows what kind of numbers he could put up.

Hating on a player because he doesn't conform to the prototypical white-boy baseball player from the 1950's always strikes me as absurd. 

People are different. People have different cultures. People have different styles, and tastes. Who gives a flying f*** if he wears a chain and tilts his hat? He's paid to hit the ball, not conform to some boring ass preconceived notion of what a baseball player should look like.

Yeah between guys like Eloy and TA a lot of people here show their true colors when talking about them. Obviously a fan can criticize a players on field performance all they want, but when the critique is about how a player is dressed or about their personality there’s definitely something else going on.

I support individuality off the field- you do you. I also think there’s value in looking like a team on the field, so if there were uniform color rules, I’d be all for it. Guess that makes me a bad guy.

Interesting how statements like this branch off into other directions. There have been owners in the past that had uniform codes for their teams.  Facial hair or long hair was one of them.  I think the NFL has a policy for all players.  Remember Jim McMahon's headbands?

Those are also fucking absurd. They are typically instituted by geriatric owners, too. Again, it's 2022. Not 1950. Times change.
