I would not be surprised shortly after this season ends the Sox announce he is going to have surgery on the wrist/hand. Which if memory serves would be the second serious injury to that part of his body requiring surgery (his thumb being the other one)

Why would they wait, get it done ASAP, more time to be ready for 2023.

  • "The soreness will escalate" is also a good 2022 White Sox slogan.

  • This injury was suffered on August 12. The strategy of not putting him on the IL has allowed him to play in 12 of the team's 28 games since then, with a .194 average and a .515 OPS in 38 plate appeara

  • Sox medical staff and Hahn should be replaced based on this perplexing handling of Robert. Absolutely absurd.

Just shut him down.

Yep twice.

They use Robert to pinch run which running the bases is how he injured his wrist in the first place.

Yes, and this is just an indication of how this situation was botched. This team is so poorly run and needs a strong manager in the dugout badly.  Preferably, a manager with experience and no ties to the White Sox.

I think this is about 43 days too late.

Good Lord. The injuries never stopped all season. What an absolute trainwreck.

If he needed rest why did it take a month to IL him? Rick Hahn retire b****

No reason for Robert, Anderson or Kopech to see the field again this season. Also, have Zavala catch 3 out of every four games, have Moncada playing only about half the games, and have Eloy continue to DH only.

Don’t even bother with TA either. And like I said the other day, just IL Grandal and see him next spring.

I agree. This player should never have been on the field. This is just negligence and risking the future of a promising player. This organization is beyond bad, and there is no credibility whatsoever. Someone should tell JR he doesn't know everything.

What, 6 weeks late?  What the f*** is wrong with this pathetic org??

It would be so awesome if they called up Burger and sent Moncada down… wake his ass up and send a message.

It’s two weeks or whatever… who fucking cares.

I believe the minor league season ends Sept. 28th.

The Sox slogan for the season should be: "Yep, if we didn't have any bad luck...we wouldn't have had any luck at all!"

No fucking s%*#. I can't believe the coaching and training staff let him play. I don't care what the player says, they should have looked at his one handed swings and IL'd him until he was pain free.

The fact that they kept running him out there out of pure desperation for weeks while he was clearly injured, hurting himself and the team, was laughable and would be grounds for firing by 29 other orgs.

It really should cost everyone involved in those decisions their jobs.  But these are the White Sox.

You can’t spell “Luis” without “IL”

Exactly. The White Sox are the "Hold my beer" meme of the MLB.

Or…who gives a s%*# what you think, Luis? Play 150 for a few years and maybe we’ll take your opinion under consideration.

Robert also said in that interview the Sox have told him that he'll be reevaluated in two weeks to see where the hand is and go from there.

I'm guessing next stop surgery.
